Does not front public sewer
03/23/2006 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied The 1994 Certificate of Occupancy for 614 N 4th Avenue only accounted for 999 SF of salon compared to the 2145 SF of salon that is shown on the current drawing. Show how the ventilation for the added area complies with the specific requirements of Sections 402 (natural ventilation) and 403 (mechanical ventilation), IMC 2000.
03/23/2006 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. A point is 1/72" and the font size is defined as the distance from the top of a lower case b to the bottom of a lower case p. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 10 points. Reference Section 302.3, Uniform Administrative Code, 1997.
2. The revised drawing show the T&P relief passing through two doorways. Since the T&P relief cannot rise above it's starting point or form a trap, how is the pipe to be routed? Show the size, route, and termination of the excess pressure relief for the water heater. Reference Section 608.5, UPC 1994.
3. The waste and vent riser diagram shows an air admittance valve used instead of a vent for the clotheswasher. Air admittance valves are only designed to accommodate negative pressures in the waste pipes, not the positive pressures associated with the pumped discharge of a clotheswasher. Provide listing information from the AAV manufacturer that shows the proper method of installing an AAV in this situation.
4. Clarify the size of the reduced pressure backflow preventer for the building water service; 1" or ¾". Also, a ¾" building water supply is too small to support the calculated demand and is in violation with Section 610.2, UPC 1994 if the reduced pressure backflow preventer is 1" in size.
5. Provide information to show that the air admittance valve for the sink and dishwasher combination is able to accommodate the positive pressures associated with the pumped discharge of a dishwasher. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994.
