THWN, is not recommended for photovoltaic source circuits. Suggest THHN, which is rated to higher temperatures, which has been specified on the AC side, and which could be less expensive. 3. Specify wiring method between modules, whether in conductors with strain relief, conduit, etc. 4. Technical description lists an optional external DC-Breaker. Specify if the disconnect on the plans is this optional equipment on the Sunny Boy inverter. 5. Specify the circuit breaker rating on the DC disconnect, on plans. 6. Provide current listing information for the Sunny Boy 1800U inverter. "The Notice of Authorization to Apply the UL Mark," on the website, dated May 10, 2002, is effective only 90 days from that date. 7. Plot the location of the row boxes on the plans. 8. Since such a product is not available on the market, UL has been requiring pull-apart connectors to be marked "DO NOT OPEN UNDER LOAD." 12. Provide for permanent marking to identify each photovoltaic system disconnecting means. Specify the exact wording and nature of such marking on the plans. Reference NEC 690.14 (C) (2). 13. For each disconnecting means which may be energized in the open position, specify a warning sign per NEC 690.17, and specify the exact wording on the plans. 14. Clarify on the plans whether the AC and DC Grounding Electrodes are the same. Specify the location of the Grounding Electrode(s). If separate AC and DC Grounding Electrodes are used, they should be bonded together. See NEC 690.47 Handbook commentary. |
