| 04/25/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Resize the reduced pressure backflow preventor to comply to Section 610.2, UPC 1994. 2. Second request. Provide equipment data (e.g. electrical data and operation of the immersion heaters) for the water heater. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. 3. The location of the expansion tank for the water heater, as shown on the plans, is incorrect. Revise the installation to comply with the manufacturer's listing requirements. Reference Section 608.3, UPC 1994 with AZ State amendments. 4. Revise the water pressure calculations to include the actual minimum main supply pressure (available from Tucson Water) and the head losses (pressure drop due to the water meter, reduced pressure backflow preventer and the static lift). Reference Sections 610.2, 610.7, and 610.8, UPC 1994. Note also that the water meter is too small for the proposed installation. Resize the water pipe sizing as required. 5. Revise the calculation of the total demand by using 5 fixture units per hose bibb. There is no discount for multiple hose bibbs in Tables 6-3 or A-2 of the 1994 edition of the UPC. Reference Sections 610.1 and 610.3, UPC 1994. 6. Clarify how access is being provided to the water heaters. The notes on sheets A2 and A3 appear to show the steel studs of the restroom walls extending to the structure. |
