07/20/2005 JIM EGAN FIRE REVIEW Denied 1. Fire hydrant required. Submit approved COT Water Plan.
2. Inadequate exterior openings per 2003 IBC Sec. 903.2.10.
07/21/2005 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the energy code compliance calculations using the current code and show that the building meets the code requirements. Reference Section 101.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2000.
2. Specify the minimum resistance (R-value) of the duct insulation to be used on this project. Reference Section 803.2.8, IECC 2000.
3. Specify the type and size of the flues for the unit heaters and show how the unit heaters are to be mounted to the structure.
07/21/2005 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Comment not addressed. Provide the minimum plumbing facilities required by Table 2902.1, IBC 2003, for business occupancy.
2. Comment not addressed. Revise the site drawing to show the location and size of the water meter and the size of the reduced pressure backflow preventer assembly. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994.
3. Comment not addressed. Revise the site drawing to show the slope of the building drain and the required cleanouts. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994.
4. Comment not addressed. Provide the rim elevation of the next upstream and the next downstream sanitary manholes and the first floor elevation. Determine the need for a backwater valve per Section 710.1, UPC 1994.
5. Comment not addressed. Provide material standards for all plumbing fixtures being provided by others. Justify rating the two sinks as "bar sinks". (Note: the minimum waste size for a commercial bar sink is 2".) Revise the plumbing fixture schedule as required, using the fixture unit values shown in Tables 6-3 and 7-3, UPC 1994. Reference Section 703.1, UPC 1994.
6. Clarify the specifications of the water heater; the model number represents a dual element unit wired for 240 volts and 4500 watts and not as shown on the water heater schedule. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994.
7. Include all of the water fixtures (i.e. hose bibbs) and all of the water requirements of the HVAC equipment (i.e. 4 evaporative coolers, not just one) when calculating the total demand and determining pipe sizes. Reference Section 610.1, UPC 1994.
8. Complete the provided water calculations to show the design pressure drop for the water supply piping system. Note: the lift portion of the calculations is for the elevation difference between the meter and the highest water outlet (e.g. the evaporative coolers). Use the method shown in Appendix A to size the branch piping as well as the main water supply. Reference Section 610.5, UPC 1994.
9. The fixture connection sizes called out for the flush valve will result in water velocities greater than 8 FPS. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference Section A 6.1, UPC 1994 and IAPMO IS 3-93, Section 610.0.
10. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks and urinals require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference Section 707.4, UPC 1994.
11. Revise the routing of the building drain as necessary to comply with the requirements of Section 313.3, UPC 1994.
12. Resize the natural gas piping per Section 1217.0, UPC 1994 with AZ State amendments.
07/26/2005 BOB SUBA ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1.Plans need to be ledgible to be able to reduce to microfish and still be clear. 2. Provide fault current calculations and equipment to be rated accordingly.

2) Sheet 50 of calcs, shows a design for up-lift. Specify where the values shown
were obtained, also the value for the lateral reaction.
3) Floor plan shows a loft, but there is no no structural framing details to show
any signs of a loft.
4) If there is a loft show some stairs. Provide construction details of stairs and
