| 02/03/2005 | Robert Sherry | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Coordinate the "water fixtures units" column of the plumbing fixture schedule, "water fixture count" and "water demand" tables on sheet P1 with Table 6-3, UPC 1994. Include all water connections in the tabulation (e.g. ice maker and the soda dispensers). 2. Provide water pressure and water pipe sizing calculations. See Section 610.7 for instructions for water pipe sizing calculations; the source of supply is the meter and the developed length of piping is from the meter to the most remote outlet served by that meter. Reference Section 610.4, UPC 1994. 3. The provided listing information for the grease trap shows it is designed for a maximum flowrate of only 15 GPM and a grease capacity of only 30 pounds (sheet P1 specifies a grease capacity of 40 pounds). The minimum flowrate allowed for a grease trap is 20 GPM. Reference Section 1011.2, UPC 1994. 4. Revise the design of the vent for the grease trap to comply with the requirements of Section 905.2, UPC 1994. The modified riser diagram does not clarify the issue; contact the manufacturer for installation guidelines. 5. Provide an upper terminal cleanout and trap for the floor sink shown in riser 2. Reference Section 901.0, UPC 1994. Clarify the arrangement of the cleanout for the hand sink shown in riser 1. 6. Comment not addressed Revise the sizes of the vents as required to comply with Section 904.1, UPC 1994. 7. Clarify the note "1-1/2" Traparm tap to 2" riser @ lav" and coordinate with riser 2. |
| 02/03/2005 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The cut sheets provided for a Type I hood and exhaust fan from CaptiveAire do not seem to be coordinated with this project and most of the cut sheets are not legible. A different fan has been specified on the drawing and the balancing data for the fan is called out as 2630 CFM, 2600 CFM, and 2400 CFM (the cut sheet shows the fan moving 1500 CFM). Clarify which hood and exhaust fan are to be installed and the required airflow (see Sections 507.1 and 507.13, IMC 2000). Provide a grease reservoir for the fan per Section 506.3.8 IMC 2000. 2. The supplied cut sheet is not legible. Provide information (on the drawing) to show what types of cooking equipment is to be used under the Type I hood. Reference Section 106.3.1, IMC 2000. 3. No cut sheet provided. Provide the listing information for the makeup air unit on the drawing. Show how the makeup air complies with the requirements of Section 508.1.1, IMC 2000. Reference Section 301.4, IMC 2000. 4. Provide information (on the drawing) to show that the insulation of the HVAC ductwork complies with the requirements of Section 803.2.8, IECC 2000. 5. Correct the general note that describes the construction of the grease duct. Reference Section 506.3.3, IMC 2000. |
