2. Show how the potable water piping for the main control building has been sized. Include all fixtures and the potable water requirements of the process equipment when calculating the total demand and determining pipe sizes. Reference Sections 610.1 and 610.5, UPC 1994. Note: Limit the water velocity to less than 8 fps for the copper. Reference Section A 6.1, UPC 1994; IAPMO IS 20-93, Section 610.0; and IAPMO IS 3-93, Section 610.01. NOTE: READ SECTIONS A1 THROUGH A5 (APPENDIX A, 1994 UPC), WHICH DESCRIBE HOW TO SIZE PLUMBING PIPING. THE MINIMUM RESIDUAL PRESSURE FOR A SAFETY EYEWASH/SHOWER IS 30 PSIG. THE FIXTURE UNIT VALUES SHOULD BE FROM TABLE A-2 (PUBLIC).
3. Provide vent piping for the waste piping located in the treatment building. Reference Section 901.1, UPC 1994. NOTE: READ SECTIONS 901.1 AND 904.1, UPC 1994.
4. Show cleanouts in the building sewer. Reference Section 719.0, UPC 1994. NOTE: READ THE DEFINITIONS OF "BUILDING DRAIN" AND "BUILDING SEWER" IN SECTION 202.0, AND THE DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIRED CLEANOUTS IN SECTION 719.1, UPC 1994. THE CLEANOUT SHOWN IN DETAIL 8, SHEET MP-24 IS AN UPPER TERMINAL CLEANOUT FOR THE BUILDING DRAIN, AS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 707.4, UPC 1994.
5. The maximum flow rates for plumbing fixtures shall be consistent with ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12. See text at: (http://www.azleg.state.az.us/ArizonaRevisedStatutes.asp) Reference Section 402.1, UPC 1994, as amended by the State of Arizona. NOTHING ON SHEET MP-24, THE REVISED SPECIFICATIONS, OR THE REPLY TO COMMENT #2 ADDRESSES THIS COMMENT.
6. Provide a detail of the water heater installation, including the excess pressure relief valve, expansion tank, and valves. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. THE SPECIFIED POINT-OF-USE, STORAGE-TYPE WATER HEATER (1-GALLON STORAGE) REQUIRES AN EXPANSION TANK PER SECTION 608.3, UPC 1994. SHOW THE SIZE, ROUTE AND TERMINATION OF THE PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RELIEF VALVE PER SECTION 608.5, UPC 1994.
7. Provide the rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole and the first floor elevation. Determine the need for a backwater valve per Section 710.1, UPC 1994. THE GRADE OF THE BUILDING SEWER DOES NOT DETERMINE THE RIM ELEVATION OF A MANHOLE. SHOW THE RIM ELEVATION AND THE FLOOR ELEVATION ON THE DRAWINGS AND IF REQUIRED, ADD A BACKWATER VALVE.
