08/13/2004 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The exhaust requirements for Type I hoods is determined by the type of equipment placed under the hood. According to the equipment schedule, a chip fryer is located under hood T-2c which would be classified as a high temperature appliance, not a medium temperature appliance. The requirement for such a hood with 3 sides open is 100 times the area of the hood, not 75 times the area of the hood. Reference Section 507.13.2, IMC 2000.
2. If RTU-1 and RTU-2 are being used to provide makeup air for the exhaust hoods, show the rooftop units are electrically interlocked with the hoods in compliance with Section 508.1, IMC 2000.
3. Provide the listing information for the tortilla machine and its vent or show how the equipment complies with Section 506 and 507, IMC 2000.
