| 06/16/2004 | Linda Buczynski | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT LBUCZYN1@CI.TUCSON.AZ.US IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. Please identify extent of classified location per NEC 500-8. Keynote 11 may refer to such area, but the extent of that area is not defined on the plans. In the specification of compliance with Article 502, the location of seal-offs must be identified. Please coordinate with the Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical review comment #3. And note that with the presence of the Milling Machine and the Mini-Lathe, the possibility of combustible dusts under Group E may have to be considered. Please coordinate this item with the End-User to determine exact intent. 2. The Phase Perfect DPC-30 on Keynote 3 of Sheet E1 is rated for a steady state output current of 80A at 30 HP per the website http://www.phaseperfect.com/dpc30prodinfo.htm According to this website, output voltage would be equal to single-phase input voltage, or approximately 240V. Thus the current would be transformed to 92.3A on the secondary of the transformer. It is unclear how this converter can serve 99.3 A at 35.8 KVA. The load calculations for Panel WS do not itemize separate pieces of machinery, and therefore it is not possible to determine whether such calculations invoked such Code sections as NEC 220-21 for Coincident Loads. Please clarify/correct as necessary. And please add the phase converter to the One Line Diagram. 4. Load calculations for Panel C, counting 5.8 KVA for Receptacle loads, appear to be low in this category. I count 83 receptacles not on appliance circuits, for a total of 14.9 KVA. This being the case, total would be 58.9 KVA, and total amps well over the 200A rating of the panel. 5. Please clarify the size of Overcurrent Protection for the feeder emerging from the top left of the meter pac. Understood that the meter pac has integral over-current protection, but size needs to be clarified. 6. The 400A CB at the meter pac for Panel OW, protecting a 250 MCM feeder of ampacity 255 A, is oversized. 7. The GND in the feeder to Panel OW, with a 400A CB ahead of it, shall be sized a minimum of #3, not #4. |
