04/30/2004 Linda Buczynski ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL.

PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT LBUCZYN1@CI.TUCSON.AZ.US
IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS.

1. To comply with A.R.S. R4-30-304, if a professional document is revised by the originating registrant after the date the seal is signed, that registrant may indicate the date, nature and scope of the revisions, or, re-seal, re-sign, and re-date, with the current date. Seal and date on drawings still indicate December 2003. Review comments were made in January 2004. There are numerous annotations and clouds on the drawings but no revision numbers and no revision triangles. Please correct.
2. Provide original drawings with the next submittal. This comment was made in bold in underlined in all caps with the first set of review comments.
3. Circuit 28, counted at 1000 VA, is too low. Per NEC 220-3 (b) (9), each such outlet shall be computed at no less than 180 VA per receptacle. (7) (180) = 1260. Bear in mind that this is a minimum, and that if any kitchen equipment is to be powered from any new receptacles on this project, such receptacles may have more than 180 VA. This applies not only to the new equipment, but also to the load calculations for the existing.
5. 'Include an additional 25% for continuous load for all lighting circuits, and for any other load which is anticipated to run for three hours or more, and 25% of the largest motor. This applies to all load calculations for feeders and the service. See NEC 210-19 (a), 215-2 (a), 230-42 (a) (1), 430-22 (a), and 430-24." This comment was made on the previous submittal. Please note that 3 VA per square foot is not applicable to restaurant General Lighting loads per Table 230-3 (a). Please make corrections to load calculations on the panel schedule calculations, because loads are better documented there and more easily examined.
6. Regarding Note 3, per the 1998 IECC, no light source may be installed on the exterior of buildings unless it has a source efficacy of at least 45 lumens per watt. Incandescent has only 10-20 lumens per watt. Another note referencing incandescent now appears on Sheet 10. Please correct.
7. Specify conduit conductor sizes for branch circuits.
