All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittal provided. All portions of the project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL: q There are no general comments to be addressed. ARCHITECTURAL: q Elevation "R" on Sheet A6.0 indicates that the bottom of the water heater is to be at 9'-6" (while the ceiling above is at the same elevation). Please clarify. A permanent ladder access is required for any water heater mounted on a platform at 8'-0" or higher above the finish floor [1994 UPC Sec. 511.2]. STRUCTURAL: q Sheet S0.1 indicates that special inspection is required for soils. Is this correct? Please clarify. If special inspection for soil is required then provide a special inspection certificate to cover this requirement. q The left half of the lay out drawing on Page 3 of the structural calculations indicates that that a "B3 Sim" beam is to be used for the framing of this portion of the roof (indicated as a 3 1/8" x 15" glue laminated beam on Page 4 of the same calculations). Sheet S2.1 indicates that this member is a 3 1/8" by 10 1/2" glue laminated beam. Please clarify. MECHANICAL: q There are no mechanical comments to be addressed.
