06/03/2004 | DOUG WILLIAMS | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | SUBJECT: Sinclair Oil Co. Trenching/Grading Review REVIEWER: Doug Williams DATE: 3 June 2004 ACTIVITY NUMBERS: T04BU00476/T04OT01102 T14S, R14E, Section 30 Resubmittal Required: Revised Grading Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans with text, and Floodplain Use Permit Application. SUMMARY: Engineering Division has reviewed the subject plans. Approval is not recommended at this time. A field visit to the adjacent site has revealed that the trenching performed along Campbell Avenue appears to be within the public right of way. As such, this project must clearly demonstrate that the trenching/berming proposed will be contained entirely within the subject property limits. As noted on the previous review, a right of way permit is required for any construction, excavation or development related work activity in the right of way. Contact Permits and Codes Section, Transportation Department (TDOT) at 791-5100 for permit issuance and/or inquiries relating to permitting for this work. The following comments must be addressed prior to resubmittal: 1. The 2' setback from property lines to toe of fill slopes does not appear to be accurate, as depicted in section 3/2. This detail must be revised to reflect accurate depiction of existing property lines. 2. Depict current right of way dimensioning on sheet 2, and ensure all details reflect current right of way/property lines for all public streets bounding the project, fully labeled and dimensioned. 3. The proposal that the berm and trench serve as a sediment control measure is not acceptable. Pollution controls must be provided for the excavated earth material. Installation of acceptable control measures must be provided at the toe of all excavated material, or alternatively, compaction of the excavated material will be acceptable. Provide appropriate notation on all applicable grading and SWPP plan sheets indicating conformance with such, and revise the text accordingly (pages 3-5, minimum). Resubmittal will require revised Grading and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and text addressing all of the comments provided above. Please assure Floodplain Use Permit Applications accompanying each grading permit application have been included with a resubmittal. Please note that confirmation of right of way permitting will be required prior to approval of the grading and/or floodplain Use Permits, where applicable. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 791-5550, extension 1189 or Dwillia1@ci.tucson.az.us. Douglas Williams Sr. Engineering Associate Engineering Division Development Services Department |
