01/07/2004 | Doug Williams | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | SUBJECT: Floodplain Use Permit Application - 770 N. Anita Ave. REVIEWER: Doug Williams DATE: 8 January 2004 ACTIVITY NUMBER(s): T03OT02197/T03CM04893 SUMMARY: Engineering Section has reviewed the floodplain use permit application received on 10 December 2003. Section 26-11.2 I of the Tucson Code requires an engineering study review fee of $150.00 with floodplain use permit applications. Please remit this fee payment upon resubmittal. Certification of the lowest floor elevation for the proposed new structure will be a required condition of permit issuance and compliance. Floodplain approval is not recommended at this time - resubmittal is required. Please address the following comments: 1. Tucson Code, Section 26-8 d 2 states that, "In an area where fill is to be used to raise the elevation of a building site, the building line shall be located not less than 25 feet landward from any edge of the fill, unless a study prepared by a state-registered civil engineer shows that a lesser distance is acceptable." The hydrology report must discuss and include certification that the proposed building pad will be reasonably safe from erosion during times of flooding, and that proposed fill does not create a danger or hazard to life or property in the area. If fill is proposed to elevate the entire lot, an encroachment analysis will be required, demonstrating compliance with Section 26-5.2 (5 & 6) (Development Standard 10-02.0, Section 2.3.1.4 F). 2. Provide estimated cut/fill quantities. If in excess of 50 cubic yards, a grading permit will be required. 3. Section 26-11.2 I requires an engineering study review fee of $150.00 with floodplain use permit applications. Please remit this fee payment upon resubmittal. Resubmittal should include 2 sets of site/grading plans, a grading permit application, the building and Floodplain Use Permit applications, the Hydrology Report containing discussion/certification discussed above, and an Engineering Study Review Fee of $150.00.
