ACTIVITY NUMBER(s): T03OT01920/T03MH00188

SUMMARY: Engineering Section has reviewed the floodplain use permit application received on October 30, 2003. Approval is not recommended at this time - resubmittal is required. The following comments must be addressed:

1. In accordance with the City of Tucson's Floodplain Regulations, "A plan for evacuating residents of all manufactured home parks or subdivisions located within floodprone areas shall be developed and filed with and approved by the county department of emergency services, disaster planning and preparedness. A copy of the approved plan shall be submitted to the City Engineer's office for record." Prior to approval of this Floodplain Use Permit application, a copy of this plan must be provided to this office (Tucson Code, Section 26-9 a 4);

2. Please note that upon receipt of the above plan with a resubmittal, floodplain use permit conditions will be required for the proposed placement of the manufactured home. These conditions include at a minimum: (a) placement of the home on a permanent foundation; (b) placement and elevation of the home so that the bottom of the structural frame or the lowest point of any attached appliances, whichever is lower, is at or above the regulatory flood elevation (1 foot above the 100-year flood elevation); (c) certification by a state-registered professional civil engineer that the installation of the home meets all of the requirements listed above; and (d) certification of elevations listed on the floodplain use permit shall be prepared by a state-registered land surveyor and provided to the City Engineer prior to habitation of the structure (Tucson Code, Section 26-9)
