01/15/2004 | STANTEC | 3RD PARTY REVIEW-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this review covers Architectural, Structural, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittal provided. All portions of the project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL: q There are no general comments to be addressed. ARCHITECTURAL: q Provide a width dimension on the pull side of the door to the women's room. This clear width needs to be minimally 48 inches [ANSI A117.1-1998 Fig. 404.2.4.1(f)]. q Do the existing main egress doors have a sign over them that reads "This door to remain unlocked when building is occupied"? The door and hardware schedule indicates that these doors are to have new locksets. Please clarify. q Floor Plan Note 5 on Sheet A1 indicates that the occupant load is 127 people. Does this include the outdoor dining area? "A" occupancies (i.e. restaurants) with an occupant load over 100 people require that the doors providing the means of egress have "panic hardware" [2000 IBC Sec. 1003.3.1.9]. Please clarify. Also, is the gate from the outdoor dining area provided with any kind of latching or locking hardware [2000 IBC Sec. 1003.3.2]? STRUCTURAL: q There are no structural comments to be addressed. MECHANICAL: q Please provide outside air calculations based on the 2000 IMC, Table 403.3. Outside air calculations have been provided on Sheet M1, but they do not appear to be based on the 2000 IMC. q The exhaust fan in the men's restroom needs to exhaust 150 c.f.m. of air minimum. For each toilet and urinal 75 c.f.m. of air must be exhausted [2000 IMC Table 403.3]. The exhaust fan provided only exhausts 127 c.f.m. PLUMBING: q There are no plumbing comments to be addressed. ELECTRICAL: q The font size for the Lighting Fixture Schedule and the Lighting Control Diagram and Specifications on Sheet E2 is very, very, small. Please increase the font size to a more legible size (the notes in the Lighting Energy Code Compliance would be acceptable). The City of Tucson copies all approved plan documents into microfiche and the small font will not make the transfer. -End of Review- |
