04/15/2004 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the water supply calculations. The minimum water pressure for the specified water closet is 25 psig and the minimum pressure for the ice cuber (#23) is 20 psig plus the pressure drop of the backflow preventer. You may use Appendix A of the 1994 UPC instead of Table 6-4 for your sizing calculations since you have over 50 fixture units (Section 610.5, UPC 1994). Your calculated pipe length appears to be less than the sum of the pipe lengths shown in the calculations. Adjust the pipe sizing as required.
2. Coordinate the fixture unit calculations with the Comprehensive Equipment Schedule (T-1.0). Include all fixtures when calculating the total demand and determining pipe sizes. (See note in Table 6-3: "Water supply outlets for items not listed above shall be computed at their maximum demand but in no case less than…"). Reference Section 610.1, UPC 1994.
3. Provide a vent for each fixture trap. (e.g. the floor drains in the Women's and Men's restrooms) Reference Sections 901.0 and 910.0, UPC 1994.
4. Comment not addressed. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipe. See exception (1) of Section 707.4, UPC 1994. (i.e. all urinals and all sinks.)
