All corrections and revisions shall be made on the original tracings and two new sets of prints or (1) sepia and (1) blue line shall be returned. 2. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays ensure all corrections have been made, are complete and have been coordinated on all applicable details and notes. 3. South elevation: This elevation shows masonry above the Glu-Lam Beam. Masonry cannot be supported by wood. Remove solid cap and any masonry units over the beam. 4. Designate roof slope over bay window. A slope no less than 3:12 is required for roof with clay tile. 5. The lintel (PS8-12#9) over the bay opening is inadequate. The values submitted are to be cut in half without special inspection (see attached sheet) which leaves you with 335 [lb/lin. ft] for the 16" span. The total load is calculated to be 648 [lb/lin.ft]. Two options are: 1 - Obtain a special inspection for grout placement of the choosen lintel. 2 - Change design to an I-beam. Spec out I-beam so it can be evaluated. (minimum section modulus S=9) |
