10/15/2003 | STANTEC | 3RD PARTY REVIEW-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this review covers Architectural, Structural, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittal provided. All portions of the project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL: q There are no general comments to be addressed. ARCHITECTURAL: q The code information on Sheet SP-1 is incorrect (also check the cover sheet). The information appears to be per the1994 UBC. Please correct the following references: · The Construction Type is V-B and not V-N. · The Occupancy Type for the warehouse is an S-1 and not an S-2 (Sheet SP-1 is correct, the cover is incorrect). · The allowable area based including area increases for the ratio of the perimeter relative to the distance to property line and sprinklers is 42,750 s.f. Therefore since the existing building is 44, 098 s.f. the building requires a firewall to separate the building into two fire areas (the plans do note a 1-hour rated demising wall). q The 1 hour fire barrier separating the B Occupancy from the S-2 Occupancy needs to have 3/4 hour fire rated assemblies for the doors providing access [2000 IBC Table 714.2]. Doors 1161 and 1162 are shown in the schedule as 20-minute doors. Further, please label these walls as fire barrier walls [2000 IBC Sec. 706]. q Please label the 1-hour rated demising wall as a firewall [2000 IBC Sec. 705] separating the building into two areas to reduce the allowable area (see earlier comment). STRUCTURAL: q There are no structural comments to be addressed. MECHANICAL: q There are no mechanical comments to be addressed. PLUMBING: q There are no plumbing comments to be addressed. ELECTRICAL: q Please clarify the series rated note (Note #3) on Sheet E-1. It references that circuit breakers have been added between the service main and each panel, however Panels H1 and H2 have each been noted a M.L.O. (Main Lug Only). Where are these breakers? -End of Review- |
