IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS.

1. Service Load Summary uses different values for the AC load than do the Panel Calculations. This would not be critical except that when the values used on the Panel Calculations are used, the service totals nearly the entire 600A capacity. Also, the load from Panel H, although very small, would show the service to be overloaded if the Panel Load Calculation values were used in the service summary. Please double check AC/HP loads, and add House Panel to service load calculations.
2. Since Panel H does not serve a dwelling unit, the feeder would not in my interpretation be sized per Table 310-15 (b) (6). Appears that the conductor size should be a #3 instead of a #4.
3. Using the plans as a reference for scale, a check was made on the fault calculations. It appears from the present layout that there is 18,280 AFC at the Service Entrance, using a one-way 50 linear foot measurement. A calculation for Panel H was made, using #3 per Comment #2 above and 14 LF, and on this layout it appears that there would be 12591 AFC at this point. A calculation for Panel B at 21 LF resulted in 11,857 AFC. Please re-evaluate equipment ratings or specify conductor linear footages such that the fault current is attenuated to within the rating of the equipment.
12/03/2003 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide overflow roof drains. Reference Section D1.1, UPC 1994.
2. Show how the water supply to the entire apartment building and to apartments 5 and 6 is able to conform to the requirements of NFPA 13R, Sections 6.5 and 6.6.
3. A single 1" water meter is not approved for this project; it results in an excessive pressure drop (over 20 PSI). Reference Section 610.2, UPC 1994.
4. If the specified water heater is not supplied with integral heat traps, provide heat traps on the supply and discharge piping along with ½" insulation on the first eight feet of supply and discharge piping. Reference Section 704.4, IECC 1998.
5. Provide adequate space for removal of the water heaters. Reference Section 511.0, UPC 1994.
6. Combustion/relief air is not required for an electric water heater and a heat pump fan-coil unit.
7. Provide cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipe over than five feet from the building drain and at all sinks. Reference Section 707.4, UPC 1994.
8. Provide an additional cleanout on drainage pipe with an aggregate horizontal change of direction exceeding 135 degrees. Reference Section 707.5, UPC 1994.
9. Coordinate Detail 1/P1.3 with the floor plan on sheet P1.1.
10. Revise the drawings to show the hot water connected to the left side of the fittings. Reference Section 601.2, UPC 1994.
11. Revise the size of the water piping to conform to the calculations shown on the drawing. Reference Section 610.1, UPC 1994.
