| 10/06/2003 | STANTEC | 3RD PARTY REVIEW-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this review covers a plumbing revision to a medical office and shell building. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittal provided. All portions of the project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL: q Provide an additional copy of the structural calculations and geotechnical report (two sets are required and only one set of each was provided). q What is the elevation of the manhole in the street and what is its relationship to the flood rim of fixtures that may be placed in this facility? Without further information being provided it cannot be determined if the backwater valve noted on Sheet P1 is correctly provided [1994 UPC Sec. 710]. ARCHITECTURAL: q Details 106 and 107 on Sheet S5.1 indicate to "see architectural drawings" for the height of these interior masonry and concrete partitions. However, these partitions are not shown in the architectural drawings. Please coordinate. STRUCTURAL: q A special inspection certificate is required for the following [2000 IBC Sec. 1704]: · Concrete · Concrete Tilt-up Panels · Masonry · Field Welding · Epoxy Anchors q The calculations appear to be incomplete. Where is the determination that a 5'-0" square footing is adequate for the support of steel columns and roof beams? For that matter, where in the calculations are any of the footings sized? The layout diagram on Page 9 shows Columns C1 and Footings F1, but where are the calculations? How is the design of the roof diaphragm determined (does the roof diaphragm take any lateral loads)? Please provide additional information. q The calculations for the joist purlins (JP1 and JP2) on Pages 5 and 6 of the calculations indicate that the dead loads (WD) is to be 128 and 140 lbs. respectively. The joist purlin schedule on Sheet S3.1 lists these numbers as live loads. Please clarify. The total loads listed appear to correlate. q Beams B1 and B2 appear to be reversed between the calculations and the plans. They are identical except for a 3/4" camber. Page 8 of the calculations agrees with the beam schedule on Sheet S3.1, however the layout drawing on Page 4 of the calculations and the framing plan on Sheet S3.1 differ. Please coordinate. q Should the note referenced in the column schedule on Sheet S2.1 for Column C2 be Note 2 instead of Note 1 as noted? Please clarify. q Details 106 and 107 on Sheet S5.1 indicate to "see architectural drawings" for the height of these interior masonry and concrete partitions. However, these partitions are not shown in the architectural drawings. Are these partitions to be "future" partitions, and the applicable information for this project is the footing information? Please clarify. MECHANICAL: q There are no mechanical comments to be addressed. PLUMBING: q There are no plumbing comments to be addressed. ELECTRICAL: q Are the light fixtures and receptacle to be circuited to a panel? If so, what panel? Please clarify on the plans. -End of Review- |
