Specify point of termination for condensate drain. Ref. IMC 307. STRUCTURAL COMMENTS GSN 1. Update seismic data to reflect 2000IBC requirements. Ref. IBC 1603.1.5 to call out on plan seismic use group, SDS, SD1, Soil SiteCclass, Basic seismic force resisting system, design base shear and analysis procedure. Despite calculated values are conservative, see IBC 1615.1, 1615.1.2 for difference between mapped spectral accelerations SS and S1, and Designed spectral accelerations SDS and SD1. 2. Design of masonry by the Working Stress Design Method using one half of the allowable stresses to avoid the requirements is no longer permitted. Although the UBC permits half stress design of masonry for uninspected masonry construction, this is not consistent with the MSJC, which requires a minimum level of inspection for all masonry structures. IBC 1704.5 requires full allowable stress for masonry designed by the Working Stress Design Method along with mandatory inspection. Please revise. 3. Add to the list of Special Inspections the earthwork, grading and filling per Soils Report requirements, and field welding. Sheet S1 1. Address column base plate of front TS4 x 4 x 1/4 columns, missing to be shown on plans. Also provide GLB beam to column connection. 2. Provide masonry pier design due to out-of-plane wind loads by accounting for the adjacent openings plus combined with axial compression.
