GENERAL COMMENTS:

1. This project has been reviewed for conformance with the 2000 IBC, 1997 UAC, 2000 IMC, 1998 IECC, 1999 NEC codes with local modifications, and the 1994 UPC with State of Arizona Amendments. Any revisions to this plan will require an additional review and approval by Willdan.


ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS:

Sheets AL1, AL2, D1, and D2

1. The following is required to be stamped (where applicable) and wet-signed by the Arizona licensed or registered professional who prepared the document(s):

Sheet A2

1. Cross-reference all details and sections. The reference to the roof drain detail, 6/A2, appears to be mislabeled. The correct reference should be 7/A2. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1.



STRUCTURAL COMMENTS:

1. The RISA-3D computer model for the steel ring does not appear to show the relationship of the joints to the building column lines. A labeled joint and member diagram showing which column corresponds to the building column would be helpful. In addition the calculation of input values for the loading conditions shown on the computer calculations is needed. The concentrated loads from beams B-1 and doubled high roof joists appear to be omitted from the loading specifications for the computer run. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

2. Structural calculations sheet #30 appears to underestimate the maximum component and cladding wind load for the design of the CMU wall. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 1609.6.5.

3. The roof diaphragm over the dental suite appears to be not calculated or detailed for the large circular opening in the lower roof. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 1604.4.

4. The tributary wind load for the short direction shown on calculation sheet #41 appears to be low. The top of parapet elevation appears to be 24'. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

5. Structural calculation sheet #46 appears to omit the beam reaction load tributary to this wall from roof beam B1. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

Sheet A1.2

1. The Structural support conditions shown in the calculations for the curved beam B-3 supporting the north canopy's appear to conflict with the Architectural plans. In addition, the curved B-3 beam appears to be subjected to torsional loads. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

2. The typical canopy section detail #3 appears to be missing welded connection information. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

Sheet S0.1

1. Special inspection pursuant to UBC Section 1701 is required as identified on the plans. The special inspector shall be approved by the Building Official prior to start of work. Please provide the completed Special Inspection Certificate. Reference IBC Chapter 17.

2. The wind exposure category appears to be mislabeled. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

Sheet S2.1

1. Footing F7 appears to be under sized. The reaction from beam B1 appears to be omitted in the structural calculations. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

2. The footings labeled F1 for the masonry jambs along the north and south elevation walls appears to be incomplete since the length of the footing is not specified. In addition there appears to be a conflict between the architectural specifications for slump block on these jambs and the structural calculations. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

Sheet S4.1

1. The nailing for notes #5 and #11 on detail #204 appears to be inadequate for the maximum wall anchorage forces. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

2. Detail #202 appears to be inadequate for the continuous cross tie forces. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 1620.2.1.

3. Note #5 of detail #206 appears to be inadequate for the maximum shear wall force. Please clarify. Reference 2000 IBC Section 106.1.1.

1. Design of rainwater piping shall be in accordance with UPC Appendix D, using a minimum rainfall intensity of three inches (101.6 mm) per hour. Please provide rainfall and roof drain calculations pursuant to UPC Appendix D.
