GENERAL COMMENTS:

1. This project has been reviewed for conformance with the 2000 IBC, 1997 UAC, 2000 IMC, 1998 IECC, 1999 NEC codes with local modifications, and the 1994 UPC with State of Arizona Amendments. Any revisions to this plan will require an additional review and approval by Willdan.


ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS:

Sheet T1

1. The occupancy designation for the restaurant space is A-2. Reference IBC Section 303.1.

Sheet A1

1. Detail 3 is referenced to be on Sheet A4. However, Detail 3 does not appear on Sheet A4. Please review and clarify. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1.

Sheet A2

1. Please clarify that the suspended ceiling shall comply with ASTM C635 and C636. Reference IBC Section 803.8.1.1.



STRUCTURAL COMMENTS:

Sheets A4 and A5

1. Please fully specify the materials, sizes and grades required for the new exterior wall doorjamb and header. Reference IBC Section 2303.

2. The structural engineer shall acknowledge its review and approval of the structural suspension details from the existing roof and new exterior door detail by sealing the applicable drawing. Reference IBC Section 106.


PLUMBING COMMENTS:

Sheet P1

1. Please identify an integral backflow preventor or vacuum breaker as applicable for the water supply to the hose reels. Reference UPC Section 603.

2. The trap arm length to the FS-1 vent appears to exceed the allowable limit. Please review and clarify. Reference UPC Table 10-1.

3. A vent could not be identified for FS-2. Please review and clarify. Reference UPC Section 901.

4. Construction note 21 calls for grease from the new grease duct exhaust fans to terminate at the floor sinks. Grease drains should not terminate at floor sinks that are not connected to an applicable grease trap system. Please review and clarify. Reference UPC Sections 714.1 and 1008.1.

5. Please identify an approved connection link from the gas piping to the appliance. Reference UPC Section 1212.

6. Construction note 14 could not be identified on the plan. Please review and clarify. Reference UPC Section 103.2.3.


MECHANICAL COMMENTS:

Sheet M1

1. Notes to the air balance schedule include reference to ICBO codes. Please correct and show compliance with IMC Sections 403 and 506.

Sheet M2

1. Hanger rod support for the grease duct and hood is referenced to Detail 4 on Sheet A5. However, there is no Detail 4 on Sheet A5. Please review, clarify, and coordinate approval of structural engineer. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1.

2. There shall be not less than an 18-inch separation between combustibles and the grease duct or Type I hood. Note that an exception is available for the grease duct, but no exception is listed for a Type I hood. Please review, establish, and show the required clearance space and/or proprietary detail. Coordinate with vendor drawings. Reference IMC Sections 304.1, 506.3.7, 506.3.6, and 507.9.

Sheet V-1

1. Please identify which vendor hood detail is applicable to the engineer's designated Hood #6, #7, #8. Reference IMC Section 106.3.1.


ELECTRICAL COMMENTS:

Sheet E1

1. Emergency illumination is required at the exterior discharge when a building requires two or more exits. Please show compliance. Reference IBC Section 1003.2.11.2.


ENERGY CODE COMMENTS:

Sheet A1

1. Please identify the U-value for the new door to be installed in the exterior building wall. Reference IECC Section 104.2.


ACCESSIBILITY COMMENTS:
