This project has been reviewed for conformance with the 2000 IBC, 1997 UAC, 2000 IMC, 1998 IECC, 1999 NEC codes with local modifications, and the 1994 UPC with State of Arizona Amendments. Any revisions to this plan will require an additional review and approval by Willdan. ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS: Sheet A-1 1. Applicable adopted building code shall be identified as the 2000 IBC and not the 2000 IRC. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1. 2. The City of Tucson Development Services policy is to classify all storage buildings as S-1. Please comply. Reference IBC Section 106. 3. Allowable area calculations are not shown to support the allowable area claimed. The basic allowable area for the proposed building per IBC Table 503 is 17,500 s.f. which exceeds the proposed building area of 12,000 s.f. Please clarify. Reference IBC Sections 503 and 506. 4. Site drainage is not detailed on the site plan. Please review and provide detail plans to support required drainage slopes away from the building. Reference IBC Section 1803.3. STRUCTURAL COMMENTS: Sheet A-1 1. The IBC design Building Group is not identified. Please clarify. Reference IBC Section 1604.5. 2. The seismic design category is incorrectly identified as B. No data has been submitted to support this claim. Seismic Design Parameters as determined with the USGS/FEMA/BSSC computer disc provided with the 2000 IBC shows that the seismic design category for the site is C. Please review and clarify. Reference IBC Section 1616.3. 3. The metal building design engineer and the foundation engineer are not the same and the metal design construction package for permitting has not been submitted. Therefore, a qualified registrant shall be appointed by the owner as the design professional in responsible charge for the required engineering coordination of this project. Please complete the enclosed deferred design request letter and provide with your resubmittal. Reference IBC Section 106.3.4. 4. The Metal Building Manufacturer's Association Standard is not an accepted standard under the 2000 IBC. Please delete from the list of standards identified on the drawing. Reference IBC Section Chapter 35. 5. Required special inspections for the proposed foundation and metal building construction are not listed on the drawing, nor has the City of Tucson Special Inspection and Testing Agreement been provided with the submittal. Please coordinate. The required City of Tucson document is provided for your convenience. Reference IBC Sections 106 and 1704. 6. The foundation soil bearing pressure identified as 1000 p.s.i, is incorrect since a site foundation soils report is identified on Sheet S-1, and p.s.i. is the abbreviation for pounds per square inch. Please coordinate. Reference IBC Section 1802. Sheet S-1 1. Coordinate structural notes on Sheet S-1 with the design criteria notes on Sheet A-1. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1. 2. Provide 2-copies of the site soils report with your resubmittal. Reference IBC Section 106. 3. The foundation drawing notes that the metal building drawings are required for coordination, location, and installation of all embedded items. Please review and clarify construction sequencing for embedded items. Inspector is required to work off of approved construction drawings. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1. 4. The metal building calculations, attached to the foundation calculations, are not sealed. Please provide sealed metal building calculations or mark the calculations as "preliminary" and/or "not for construction" and/or "not for recording." Reference AZ Statute R4-30-304, Item C. 5. The permit holder should be aware that the construction of foundations before the construction documents for the whole building are submitted and approved are at the permit holder's risk. Reference IBC Section 106.3.3. PLUMBING COMMENTS: Sheet DP-1 1. Please identify the next upstream manhole rim elevation for determining whether or not a backwater valve may be necessary. Reference UPC Section 710. 2. Sewer and water lines are not legible on the plan. Please clarify. Reference UPC Section 103.2.3. MECHANICAL COMMENTS: No work is shown for the shell building. ELECTRICAL COMMENTS: Sheet E-1 1. Electrical drawings shall be noted for compliance with the 1999 NEC, 2000 IBC, and 1998 IECC. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1. ENERGY CODE COMMENTS: Sheet E-1 1.
