The scope of this review covers Architectural, Structural, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittal provided. All portions of the project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval.

GENERAL:

q There are no general comments to be addressed.

ARCHITECTURAL:

q Please clarify that the width clearance between the lavatory and the sidewall next to the toilet is a minimum of 60 inches. The lavatory cannot be placed within the toilet clearance space [1998 ICC/ANSI A117.1 - 1998 Sec. 604.3].

q The ceramic tile wainscot in the toilet rooms is to be installed only on the plumbing wall as noted on Sheet A1. What is the finish at the sidewall next to the toilet? The sidewall next to the toilet is required to have a smooth, hard, nonabsorbent surface to 4 feet above the floor as well [2000 IBC Sec. 1209.2]. Please provide.

q Sheet A4 the fire blocking note references Section 708.2 of the UBC. This reference should be to the 2000 IBC Sec. 716. Please correct the reference.

STRUCTURAL:

q The structural calculations indicate that the geotechnical report by Pattison Evanhoff is dated 5/27/03. The reports we received by Pattison Evanhoff (Job No. 03-174) are dated June 23, 2003. Does this newer report reflect a revision to the geotechnical report? Please clarify.

q Provide a City of Tucson Special Inspection Certificate(s) for the following:
· Engineered Fill
· Concrete
· Field Welding
· High Strength Bolts
· Masonry

q Provide a note on the plans that indicate the manufacturer's calculations and data for pre-fabricated trusses shall be submitted as a deferred submittal [2000 IBC Sec. 106.3.4.2]. Truss calculations must be signed, dated and wet-sealed by an engineer who is registered in Arizona. Also, indicate that the truss drawing submittal shall include a layout drawing.

MECHANICAL:

q There are no mechanical comments to be addressed.

PLUMBING:

q The water diagram riser on Sheet M-4 is missing a trap primer connection for the floor drain in the back of the Non-sales Area [1994 AzUPC Sec. 1007.1]. Please indicate.

ELECTRICAL:

q There is a required exit sign shown on Sheet A1, over the doorway from the main sales area to the hall serving the restrooms and providing access to the second exit. This exit sign is "suggested" with a rectangle on Sheet E-3, however it is not identified, noted, or circuited. Please correct.

q Coordinate the location of the exhaust fan shown on Sheet E-7 with the mechanical layout on Sheets M-1 and M-2.
