1. This project has been reviewed for conformance with the 2000 IBC, 1997 UAC, 2000 IMC, 1998 IECC, and 1999 NEC codes with local modifications, and the 1994 UPC with State of Arizona amendments. Any revisions to this plan will require an additional review and approval by Willdan.

2. Please note that per paragraph V-C of the Third Party Contract, an additional fee is charged for the third and subsequent reviews at the currently hourly rate.

ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS:

Sheet A1.1

1. The proposed employee restroom shall not open directly into a room used for the preparation of food for service to the public. Reference IBC Section 1209.5.

Sheet A3.1

1. Provide clearly stated notation on the drawing that all doors exiting from the building shall be openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. Reference IBC Section 1003.3.1.8.


STRUCTURAL COMMENTS:

Sheet S1.1 (additional drawing)

1. Provide notation for compliance with 2000 IBC as adopted by the City of Tucson. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1.

2. The proposed remedial work for the installation of mechanical equipment supported from the roof is not accompanied by structural calculations for new members or the stress in the affected existing beams and girders. Additions or alterations to an existing structure shall not increase the force in any existing structural member by more than 5-percent. Please provide required structural documentation. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1 and IBC Section 3402.2.

3. The weight of motor driven machines shall be increased 20% for the purpose of structural design. Please show design weight of supported equipment on the roof plan at its appropriate location, including connections, and the support loads and connections for the new kitchen hoods. Reference IBC Section 1607.8.2.

4. Please provide appropriate remedial detail sections for installation and connections for new members. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1.


PLUMBING COMMENTS:

Sheet M1.4

1. Provide notation on the drawing for the specific required slope gradient for new plumbing lines. Reference IBC Section 708.

2. The fixture schedule indicates only the one urinal as existing. This appears not to coincide with the demolition work. Plumbing fees are required for the installation of new fixtures. Please review and identify specifically on the schedule all existing fixtures remaining in place and all new fixtures. Reference IBC Section 703.
