04/18/2003 | STANTEC | 3RD PARTY REVIEW-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | City of Tucson No. T03CM01556 GENERAL: q It is not clear on the plans submitted that the drain under the wash canopy is set in such a way to receive wash water, but not site drainage. Is there a slightly raised asphaltic curb around the wash bay to prevent rainwater flow from entering the drain? Please clarify. ARCHITECTURAL: q The wall separating the repair garage from the parts storage needs to be a 2-hour wall and not a 1-hour wall [2000 IBC Sec. 406.6.2]. The code requires the repair garage to be separated from all other uses. The breakroom, and bathroom also need to be separated from the parts storage area by this same wall (however they do not need to be separated form the parts storage area). Further, this means that door 149A, 151, and the door to the breakroom need to be 1.5-hour rated assemblies [2000 IBC Table 714.2]. q What is the lintel height at the compressor room door shown on Detail 1 on Sheet A0.2? The structural engineer has indicated that there is a 2'-8" deep header above this opening however this requirement appears to require the parapet to be raised another 8 inches (and the situation is worse for the oil storage room doors). Please clarify. STRUCTURAL: q A special inspection certificate has been provided for concrete, masonry, field welding, and high strength bolting. However, the certificate does not cover epoxy anchors, engineered fill, or the concrete tilt-up panels. Please provide additional certificate(s). q The lintel schedule on Sheet S9 indicates that the masonry lintel above the two openings are 2'-8" deep, however the elevation on Sheet A0.2 indicates that the masonry header is at 8'-8" and the parapet is at 10'-0" (i.e. 1'-4" depth max.). Please coordinate. MECHANICAL: q Based on an earlier described architectural issues above (2-hour wall placement), there currently needs to be some fire dampers on ducts penetrating these 2 hour walls. Coordinate with the architect. PLUMBING: q There are no plumbing comments to be addressed. ELECTRICAL: q The grounding schematic diagram on Sheet E4 has outdated code references (the references are to the 1996 and not the 1999 NEC). Please correct. |
