All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittal provided. All portions of the project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL: q Wildeck plans specify design is per the 1997 UBC. Revise plans to comply with the 2000 IBC. q Clarify that all work represented in the Wildeck plans are sealed by registrants in compliance with Arizona statutes. ARCHITECTURAL: q The Wildeck framing plan indicates openings in the perimeter walls that are not included on the previously approved plans. Coordinate with approved plans or provide complete design information on these openings. q Provide guardrail along both sides of stairs designed in compliance with IBC Section 1003.2.12. Provide complete details of guards along stairs and at edges of floor. Hand rail shall be maintained in compliance with IBC 1003.3.3.11 to 1003.3.3.11.7. STRUCTURAL: q Provide copy of structural calculations verifying guard and rail design complies with IBC Section 1607.7.1 for materials and connections. q Provide an explanation of the lateral resisting frame design basis as no shear walls are shown. Revise calculations to follow the methods prescribed in the IBC. Clarify how compliance with IBC Sections 1705 and 1707 is provided. Address the different lateral movement between the storage floor and the adjacent building and detail accordingly. There is no documentation provided to indicate this design was coordinated with the engineer of record. q Arizona statues prohibit the sealing by a registrant of plans or calculations prepared by a non-registrant. The notes on the plans and calculations indicate that the storage plans and calculations with Wildeck title blocks were not prepared by the registrant. q Provide a foundation design. Provide a soils report substantiating the soils have been installed in such a manner to have a bearing value at depths indicated, sufficient for the loads indicated.
