Sheet C.3 1. Provide material and construction details for the proposed 8 feet high chain link fence and gate. Reference IBC Sections 105.2 and 106.1.1. Sheet UT.01 1. Clarify location of entry foyer and reception shown for warehouse. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1. STRUCTURAL COMMENTS: Sheet S1.1 1. Epoxy anchors are proposed for use under ER-5279. The use of epoxy anchors for resisting seismic loads is not acceptable under the 2000 IBC in either concrete or masonry. The use of the anchors for dead and live loads and wind loads for CMU grouted masonry is for masonry with f'm = 2,000 psi and course grout. Please review and clarify specific allowable uses for the proposed epoxy anchors. 2. Reference on plans ACI 530.1 for masonry compliance. Reference IBC Section 2104. 3. The required length of reinforcing lap splices for masonry construction varies with the number of parallel bars, bar size, cell width, grout size, etc. as required by formulae. Please review and show compliance. Reference IBC Section 2107.2.3. 4. Maximum grout lift shall be noted to be 5 feet. Reference ACI-530.1, Section 3.5.D. 5. Identify the specific edition of material design standard in accordance with IBC Chapter 35. 6. The Metal Building Manufacturer's Association standards and specifications are not accepted under the 2000 IBC. Delete reference. Reference IBC Section 102.4. 7. Add note that design submittal documents prepared by others shall be reviewed and noted thereon as accepted by the registered design professional in responsible charge for the project prior to submittal to the building official. Reference IBC Section 106.3.4. 8. Building Type is II-B. The use of wood within a Type II building is limited by IBC. Please review and coordinate with architect, the proposed uses of structural plywood. 9. Special inspections shall be identified as required by IBC 1704. Please review and show coordinated compliance and provide the special inspections documents required by the City of Tucson. Reference IBC Section 1704. Sheet S1.2 1. Adjacent isolated footings shall have a maximum slope of 30 degrees 1V:1.732H connecting the bottom edges of footings. Review and revise. Reference IBC Section 1805.2.2. 2. Coordinate Typical Anchor Bolt Details with General Structural Notes and review comments. Reference IBC Section 106.1.1. Sheet S3.1 1. Notes on masonry wall details, identify that the metal building bottom girt shall not be connected to the masonry wainscot wall. Please coordinate requirements with the architect and provide structural design calculation for the deflection and load compatibility at the proposed building interface of masonry wall, metal building girt and siding. Reference IBC Section 1604.3. 2. Wind calculations for masonry wainscot wall shall use wind load as required for components and cladding. Design wind area equals 16 s.f. Please review and coordinate. Reference IBC Section 1609.6.5. PLUMBING COMMENTS: 1. Building plumbing drainage lines shall be noted to have slope gradients of ΒΌ inch per foot minimum. Reference UPC Section 708 and 718.
