STRUCTURAL COMMENTS General 1.Lateral design submitted indicates horizontal shear development due to wind forces at typical low roof level (13' high wall with 5' parapet) and shear load incorporated at Upper Roof 1, 2, 3 and 4 as drawn on Sheet S6 was omitted. Please clarify and update design where these wind forces will be transferred from Upper Roof Diaphragm downward. Detail on Roof Framing Plan missing straps where required at Low Roof Diaphragm discontinuity. Reference interior shear walls along Lines 6 and A.5 where footing width is not shown. 3.Design addressing overturning stability at foundation level is not submitted. Please recheck footings under shear walls on Lines 4 and A.5. 4.Coordinate with comment #1 on Sheet S5 and recheck two F2 spread footings below steel columns of B7 beam. Sheet S5 1.Recheck 5-1/8 x 21 GLB - B7 beam including all applicable gravity loads from Upper Roof 4 per Sheet S6 and lower roof portion. Please note to address two concentrated reactions from Upper Roof Girder TG1, not only at one point load as used per page 12 of calculations. Verify beam adequacy and recheck total column load and foundations accordingly. 2.Reference to comment #1 above and provide additional details indicating glu-lam beam to steel column connection. See for example specific intersection of B7 with B1 beams. Also revise callout 208 and provide detail indicating cross section of glu-lam beam, upper and lower roof framing. 3.Recheck beam design along Line B. The column spacing between interior Lines 2 and 3 appears to be taken at less than the actual span. Coordinate with Architectural dimensions and include appropriate revision in footing design mentioned in comment #1 above.
