| 05/12/2003 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The applicable code for all commercial plumbing projects is the 1994 Uniform Plumbing Code with Arizona State Amendments. 2. Provide fixture descriptions for all plumbing fixtures. 3. Recalculate plumbing schedule using the values shown on Tables 6-3 and 7-3, UPC 1994. 4. Provide calculations showing water supply piping is sized in accordance with Sections 610.4 and 610.7, UPC 1994. 5. Provide location and size of Reduced Pressure Backflow Preventer (RPBP) assembly and water meter. 6. ABS is not an acceptable material for water supply. Reference Section 604.1, UPC 1994. 7. Resolve differences between the new 3" building sewer shown on Site Plan and the new 3" building sewer shown on Waste and Supply Plan. 8. Provide rim elevation of next upstream sanitary manhole and first floor elevation. Determine need for backwater valve per Section 710.1, UPC. |
| 05/23/2003 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT LBUCZYN1@CI.TUCSON.AZ.US IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. 1. On single Line Diagram, Conduit B shall not contain the #6 GND, as this would create a parallel path. Such a conductor is not to be installed on the line side of the N-G bond at the service disconnect. 2. Specify the series rating referenced in the Fault Current Calculations. It appears that your intent is to series-rate the fuses in both disconnects with their downstream breakers. Suggest installing main circuit breakers in both existing and new panels, and series rating them with the fuses in the disconnects, simply providing equipment with the appropriate withstand rating, or adding sufficient wire length to attenuate fault current to acceptable levels. Specify at what fault current level, upstream and downstream, such systems are (series) rated for. It is not permitted to use the let through current of the fuses as a means to attenuate fault. City only allows this for motor applications. Also, using a "c" value of 26706 (non-magnetic copper conductors), I calculated the fault current to be 15,764; and the 50' distance is questionable since the junction box is 12' from the pole. 3. On Electrical Lighting Plan, exhaust fan and lights are on Ckt A1-3. That circuit has the Insta-hot. I believe you mean Ckt A1-1. 4. Insta-hot rated at 4500 watts appears to draw more than 20A of current, but is on a 20A CB. Please re-evaluate/correct as necessary. 5. For this upgrade form a 240/120 delta system to a 208/120 wye, please clarify that any equipment not previously run on 208V is suitable for such a voltage level. |
| 05/28/2003 | MARTIN HAEBERLE | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify proposed use and occupancy classification. Reference section 106.1 IBC 2. Provide allowable area calculations including the building type and the existing building. Reference section 503.1 and 503.1.4 IBC 3. It appears a bottom chord diaphragm does not exist. Verify capabilities of truss to accept lateral bracing of masonry wall. 4. Provide landings at doors per section 1003.3.1.5 IBC 5. Indicate door hardware to be used. Reference section 1003.3.1.8 6. Provide accessible routes per section 1104 IBC. 7. Provide accessible parking per section 1106 IBC |
