Sheet E1
1. New RTU-20 at 7.5 KVA, would be 9.2 amps at 480V. 60 A CB too high to provide ground fault and short circuit protection. This comment was made on 11/11/03.
2. AFC Rating at Panels 10A, 10B, 11and 12 exceed fault current shown on plans. This comment was made on 11/11/03.
3. Regarding the 45A CB protecting RTU-3, it is too large to provide Ground Fault and Short Circuit protection per NEC 440-22 (a). Please re-evaluate this, and all other such units on this project, not just on this submittal. This comment was made on 11/11/03. RTU-3 now has a 60A CB.
4. RTU-5, with only 1.4 BHP, should be protected by a 15A CB.
5. Fault calculations indicate that 12,388 A at HP-1, but 17,373 A at HP-1, in different parts of this Sheet. Please clarify. Same as with ATS. This comment was made on 11/11/03.
6. The secondary of Transformer T-2 does not appear to meet the requirements of NEC 240-21 c (3). Conductors terminate in a 800A OC device and their ampacity for copper is only 760. Note that there are not provisions in this Article for rounding up.
7. The secondary of Transformer T-1 does not appear to meet the requirements of NEC 240-21 c (2). Conductors terminate in a 400A OC device and their ampacity for copper is only 380. Note that there are not provisions in this Article for rounding up.

E10, E10A, E10B
1. HL-1 has 24,980 AFC per Sheet E1. Rated at 18,000. Please clarify on this and each panel in this project.
2. Do not accept the concept that we are to consider the entire sheets revised. Use Revision clouds so that we don't have to re-review the entire project. For example, most of the branch circuits on HL-1 have been modified. We are not in a position to totally re-review the entire project down to the branch circuit level. Consider this comment to be typical for all panels.
3. HP-1 appears to be overloaded at 965A. Provide load calculations for LD-1, LD-2, HP-1, MDP-1, MDP-2, and MDS, the cumulative total for this project. Show in detail where your diversity factors are applied.
4. On the revised drawings, HL-1 is powered by MDP. On the original submittal, and on Sheet E1, HL-1 is powered by MDP-1. Furthermore, there is no equipment MDP on the Line Diagram Sheet E1. EWH-5 and EWH-6 are on LP-9, but not on equipment schedule. Please clarify.
5. Panel LPE-1, Phase A is overloaded at 103.3 A. Please correct.
6. Panel LP4, Phases A and B are overloaded at 114.2A and 106.7 A. Please correct.
7. Panel LP10B, Phase B is overloaded at 128.3 A. Please correct.

E11

12/31/2003 Robert Sherry MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied The Refrigeration Schedule (1/M13) indicates a charge of 530 pounds of R-404a in the largest system, not 400 pounds. Revise the emergency exhaust for the compressor room (165) to comply with Section 1105.6.4, IMC 2000.
12/31/2003 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide an accessible cleanout in the vent for the combination waste and vent system located near D-9. Reference Section 910.6, UPC.
2. Resize the vent for the combination waste and vent system to comply with Section 910.3, UPC 1994. The cross-sectional area of a 2" vent is roughly 25% of the area of a 4" drain, not 50% as required.
3. Resize the drain lines from the four floor sinks (FD-3, 4") located along column line 10 between Columns C and E to comply with Section 311.5, UPC 1994.
4. Revise Detail 2/M9 to show 2 compartments of the 3-compartment sink being directly connected to the grease trap and one compartment indirectly connected to a floor sink. The flow control fitting should stay with the two compartments being directly wasted. Reference Section 1011.3, UPC 1994.
5. Update the Food Service Connection Schedule (M5) to reflect the revised connections for the 3-compartment sink.
6. Provide a vent for the grease trap. Reference Section 901.0, UPC 1994.
