| 08/13/2002 | RANDY SCHULER | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | GENERAL COMMENTS 1) Please return the plans I have already reviewed along with your with the next submission. They are highlighted in yellow. 2) Please provide the specification documents. 3) Are the aircraft cables, specifically the plug/receptacle and switches, listed for use in hazardous locations? See 99NEC 513 for classification of the hanger. E-2 1) The east SSFC is within 36" of the east wall of the electrical room. If the wall is considered grounded by 99NEC 110-26 a minimum of 42" is required. Please clarify. E-6 1) It appears the parallel 600 AF circuit breakers in DP-1-400 should have a 400 AT setting. See page E-17 2) Are the output conductors on the SSFC #1 and #2 protected against overcurrent on their supply end? Please provide equipment description. 3) Is there overcurrent protection on the output (secondary) side of the gate boxes? The secondary currents of the gate boxes appears to be 217 amps (75kVA) and 260 amps (90 kVA). Are the gate boxes Listed/Labeled by an OSHA approved testing laboratory? The aircraft cables contain #4 cu. ( 2 #4 per conductor) in parallel therefore show compliance with 99NEC 310-4 Ex 3. 4) Provide a 1/0 cu. equipment bonding jumper for each of the 2 secondary feeders originating from the 180 kVA transformer. 99NEC 250-102(c). The 3.5" conduit size is OK. This must be done on page E-22 as well. E-8.4, E-8.5, E-8.6 1) The conduit along Column K has a note referencing to detail D on page E-21. This appears to be in error, I believe it should reference to detail B on page E-21. E-10 1) It appears a seal is required where the cable enters the bottom of the gate box. See 99NEC 513-8. E-12, E-13, E-14, E-19 1) Please explain what the switches on the cord do, in addition, please clarify the functions of E/F. E-18 1) Clarify how 513-12(a) and (b) is complied with for all portable equipment and cord and plug connections. Page 1 of 2 E-22 1) Provide 2/0 grounding electrode conductor for the step down XFMR. 99NEC 250-30(a)(2). 2) It appears the 3" secondary conductor conduit size serving the existing INET panel should be revised to 3.5". See page E-6. |
