| 12/20/2002 | LINDA BUCZYNSKI | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. The Code of the Sate Board of Technical Registration ARTICLE 3. REGULATORY PROVISIONS. 32-143 Exceptions, states: A registrant under this chapter may engage in practice in another category regulated pursuant to this chapter only to the extent that the person is qualified and to the extent that the work may be necessary and incidental to the work of the registrant's profession on a specific project. This exception does not apply to public works projects. Based upon my review and in accordance with the State Board of Technical Registration Rules, this plan should be designed and sealed by an Arizona registered professional electrical engineer. 1. Small appliance branch circuits shall not serve any other loads per NEC 210-52 (b) (2). Reconfigure kitchen branch circuits. 2. Bathroom branch circuits shall not serve any other loads per NEC 210-11 (c) (3). Reconfigure bathroom branch circuits. 3. Access is hindered to the disconnect serving AC-3 Indoor Unit. Because the panel is within sight of this device, the breaker should be able to serve as the disconnect, unless the unit specifically requires a fused protection. 4. Submit lighting fixture schedules and cut sheets. Only then will it be possible to review branch circuit loading, NEC 410-8 compliance, IECC compliance, and compliance with the Lighting Ordinance. 5. Provide receptacles in master bedrooms to comply with NEC 210-52 (a) (1). 6. Countertop and outdoor receptacles shall be GFCI per NEC 210-8 (a) (3) and (6). 7. Complete the site lighting design. Conduit size, depth of conduit fill, conductor size, pole detail, etc. 8. Identify location of site receptacles and irrigation control. 9. Provide load calculation for house panel. Note that minimum ampacity of aluminum conductors for 40 A is #6, not #8 conductors. NEC Table 310-16, NEC 110-14 (c) (1). 10. Please clarify whether AC Outside Unit and AC Inside Unit are coincident loads, to enable evaluation of Service Tabulation for the panel. 11. Water Heater is 2500 VA on Service Tabulation and 4500 on Sheet P2. Correct. 12. In order to use NEC Table 220-32, all conditions in 220-32 must be met, including the use of nameplate rating of appliances. No double diversity. 13. Recalculate service loads to evaluate whether the aluminum conductors are rated to carry the current. 14. Neutral-ground bond shall not be in the gutter, but at the service disconnect, NEC 250-24 (b). 15. Bond to the grounding electrode system at the service disconnecting means, not in the downstream gutter. Grounding electrode conductor shall be run from this bond to the grounding electrode system, not from within the gutter. 16. Provide service disconnect rating, NEC 230-79. Can not evaluate downstream equipment grounding conductor. 17. Fuse the service disconnect. Feeders from disconnect are not protected. 18. Provide size and number of conductors, and conduit size, between individual meters and panel disconnects. 19. Since feeder conductors are aluminum, suitable landing lugs shall be specified for all terminations. NEC 110-14 (a). 20. No equipment ground shall be installed in conduit with service conductors. 21. Note that minimum ampacity of aluminum conductors protected at 125 A is 2/0, not 1/0 conductors. NEC Table 310-16, NEC 110-14 (c) (2). 22. Grounding electrode conductor shall be 2/0, not 1/0, with 600 kcmil conductors. 23. Equipment grounding conductor in House Panel circuit shall be #8 if aluminum, not #10. NEC Table 250-122. 24. Equipment grounding conductor in Unit Panel circuits shall be #4 if aluminum, not #6. NEC Table 250-122. 25. House Panel shows a 125 A fuse in a 60 A disconnect. Clarify. 26. Identify rating of house panel. Not on panel schedule. 27. Equipment on electrical site plan is not as depicted on the line diagram. Please clarify. |
