05/27/2004 | Linda Buczynski | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | TRANSMIT ORIGINAL DRAWINGS WITH NEXT SUBMITTAL. PLEASE CALL AT 791-5550 X1106 OR EMAIL AT LBUCZYN1@CI.TUCSON.AZ.US IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS. GLOBAL REFER TO APPROVED PLANS FOR APPROVED VERSION. ALL REVISIONS MADE SUBSEQUENT TO THAT APPROVAL, DATED 2/27/03, SHALL BE IDENTIFIED BY THE APPROPRIATE REVISION CLOUDS. OTHERWSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE THE SCOPE OF REVISION. THIS WAS DISCUSSED AT LENGTH WHEN THE CURRENT REVISIONS WERE SUBMITTED FOR REVIEW AND WE MADE IT VERY CLEAR TO THE ENGINEER THAT THIS WAS A REQUIREMENT. FOR EXAMPLE, SHEET 3.2 WAS APPROVED UP TO REVISION 1. THEREFORE WE WOULD NOT REQUIRE THE SCOPE OF REVISION ONE TO BE CLOUDED. HOWEVER, REVISIONS 2, 3, 4 & 5 ARE DOCUMENTED IN THE SIDEBAR AT SEPARATE DATES. SUCH REVISONS WERE NEVER APPROVED AND THEREFORE ALL HAVE TO BE IN THEIR RESPECTIVE REVISION CLOUDS TO OBTAIN SUCH APPROVAL. REVISION TRIANGLES FOR 2,3, & 5 ARE IN VARIOUS PLACES ON THE PLANS WITHOUT ANY IDENTIFICATION OF SCOPE OF WORK ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH REVISION. COULDN'T SPOT REVISION 4. REVISION 6 IS PROPERLY DOCUMENTED AS SUCH. Sheet 5.2 1. There are some red markups on this Sheet, which are not documented as revisions. Please clarify intent. Sheet 6.2T3 1. Show that Available fault current will not exceed the rating of the circuit breaker per Note 8. It appears that the AFC at Fault #13 is about 17771A, which is greater than 14029. This is because in the Reviewer's opinion the distance from EDPH to the above ceiling pullbox is only about 68 feet, not 100. This would make the AFC at the CB 13480A, not 11223. Please state CB AFC rating on plans. Sheet 7.1 1. Since the taps to the C-arm System Cabinet and Power Unit are indicated as 30' on the Fault calculation #14, Feeders R46 and R47 are not in compliance with the taps rule. See NEC 240-21. 2. Locations of X-RAY #1 and X-RAY #2, documented as being in Rooms 248 and 249, on plans, do not demonstrate compliance with the taps rule. Please clarify. 3. Feeder RC was listed as (4) sets of 500 MCM on the approved drawings. Current version indicated (3) parallel sets, without proper revision cloud. Furthermore, the ampacity of this feeder is 1140A, which is not protected by the 1200A CB. Can not use ampacity from the 90 degree column of Table 301-16 unless it is specified that all terminations shall be rated at 90°. 4. The following feeders had GND conductors indicated on the approved drawings: RC, RE. Such information was eliminated in this version without documentation of revision. 5. Feeders R35-R41 with 115A ampacity, are not protected by the 150A CB. Please provide cut sheets and other manufacturer data/information to demonstrate their requirements for such conductor and breaker sizing, and independent tasting laboratory listing of such equipment. 6. Please document Panel RBHA properly as having 63A, not 18A. Sheet 8.1 1. Feeders to Panel EDPH, loaded at 836.4 A, consist of (2) 500 MCM for a total of 760A ampacity. 7. Feeder RC consisting of (3) 500 MCM, for a total of 1140A ampacity, is not protected by the 1200A CB. NEC 240-3 (c). Can not use ampacity from the 90 degree column of Table 301-16 unless it is specified that all terminations shall be rated at 90°. Sheet 8.2 1. Panel EBLA Phase B appears overloaded at 209 amps. Please reconfigure circuits, and account for continuous loads and largest motor if this has not already been taken into consideration. |
