IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS.

Sheet RE-1.0
1. Submit lighting fixture cut sheets. Next review will check for full cutoff for parking lot fixtures. This was not done, even though your response indicates that it was.

Sheet RE-1.1
1. Specify depth of conduit fill for exterior lighting. Or if, as you indicate, this will be done at a later stage, remove the work from this submittal so that we don't have to comment on/reject it.

Sheet RE-3.1
1. Maximum size of the fuses in the elevator disconnects 70A, or justify otherwise.
2. Receptacles serving machine rooms shall be GFCI. 620-85. According to your legend these are on an emergency circuit, but are not GFCI protected. Please clarify. This was a comment on the first submittal. Elevator pits were addressed in this regard, but not the machine room.

Sheet RE-5.1
1. For FC-1 and FC-2, and all other motor loads where fuse sizes on disconnects have not been specified, add the note: "All HVAC equipment shall be fused per manufacturer's specifications." This was a comment on the first submittal. There is a keynote (#2) to this effect, but no reference on the plans to which equipment this keynote applies. Size the fuses in the fused disconnects.
Sheet RE-5.2
1. Size the fuses in the fused disconnects for H-1 through H-4 at 15A, or justify otherwise.

Sheet RE-5.3
1. Size the fuses for in the fused disconnects P-1 and P-2 at 10A, or justify otherwise.

RE-6.2
1. Without UPS specifications, it is not possible to determine whether this is a derived system, or if output power conductor is protected. Please provide. This was noted on the first submittal, and the response was that this would be done by the Owner. However, the submitted plans still indicate that this is an option, which may be installed by the electrical contractor (on this job). Thus, the determination of whether this is to be a derived system, and the protection of the output conductors, still need to be addressed. If this UPS is part and parcel to a UL listing for MRI equipment, indicate such, along with a note that such equipment shall be installed in accordance with its listing. Otherwise, we need to see a full design.

Sheet RE-7.1
1. Provide fault current at ATS, AC-1 and chillers, and bracing information for these devices. This was a comment on the first submittal. Although the response states "Done", this is not evident.
2. Can not parallel #2 conductors. See NEC 310-4. This was a comment on the first submittal. Although the response states "Done", this is not evident. The feeder schedule for Conduits R35-R41 still calls out (6) # 2. No revision cloud here.
3. Feeder RC is not protected by 1200A CB. This was a comment on the first submittal. Although the response states "Done", this is not evident. The clarification of "THWN" on Revision 1 still leaves us reading from the 75ยบ column, and 380 X 3 = 1140<1200.
4. Clarify whether ATS switches the neutral. Evaluate generator for derived system. Coordinate with Page 16210-3 in the specifications, Section 2.7 B. Provide short circuit withstand rating on the plans. This was a comment on the first submittal. Although the response states "Done", this is not evident. Note that in 16210 2.7 A, the mounting style of the transfer switch shall be as indicated, yet there is not such indication on the plans.
5. Provide for generator derating for ambient and elevation. This was a comment on the first submittal. Although the response states "Done", this is not evident. One point of concern is that a generator of this capacity will be able to provide the starting currents of the motors on EDPH. Since this bus feeds certain required emergency loads, there must be assurance that such loads will be powered under all circumstances. No evidence of sequenced start of large motors, for example.
6. VP-1 show overload protection as 5A, or justify otherwise.

RE-8.2
1. CKT 5 feeds Electrical Room receptacles, not the lights. Lights appear to be on E2HA-5 from SHT RE-2.2, which coordinates with RE-2.1. This is confusing because there is no PNL EZHA so we have to guess at what is implied. Please note that two receptacles should have a load calculated at 360 VA, not 144.

BUILDING AND STRUCTURAL COMMENTS

1) Beams W 8x10 and angle 4x4x5/16 are not on the beam schedule, but are
on the calculations. Where do they apply on plans?

2) The bottom of the BEAM-COMPOSITE schedule is unclear, also the line
B 16 is unclear.
3) The details at the bottom of the concrete column schedule are unclear. Clarify!
4) Where are structural members RJ8, RJ7,and RJ9 shown on calcs.
5) Show on plans the FLOOR FRAMING ABOVE BASEMENT plan.
6) Are buildings 1 and 2 identicle?
7) Show on plans the location of the moment resisting frames as called out on calc`s.

2/12/03

1) Specify the spacing of the BC-1 and BC-2 beams and joists.
2) Structural wood shall be fire retardant and pressure treated.
3) Provide a detail showing the connection of the drag strut to a frame, beam, or shear
wall. ( See sheet S5.2)
