| 08/02/2001 | RANDY SCHULER | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | E-1 1) Provide a disconnect and grounding electrode system for the house lights and the fire alarm circuit to each apartment building. I would recommend the disconnect be lockable in the closed (on) position to circumvent possible vandalism. Provide appropriate signage to properly identify the purpose of the disconnect. 99NEC 225-31,32 and 250-32 2) Keynote #21 should read #12G not 126 as shown. E-2 Apartments 1) The peninsular counter receptacles must be mounted in a tombstone receptacle on top of the counter. 99NEC 210-52(c)(5) 2) Add an appliance receptacle on the wall at the beginning of the peninsular counter. 99NEC 210-52(c) 3) See NEC 410-8 regarding the closet lights and provide a compliant design. 4) Provide a 4 conductor circuit for the range and dryer. 99NEC 250-142(b) 5) The circuit number on the plan for the A/C should be A-24,26. 6) The fans must come equipped with a light kit. Please note on plan. 99NEC 210-70(a)(1). 7) Provide complete description of exterior fixtures for both the Apartment and the laundry. Include the source type and wattage. E-2 Laundry 1) Provide a GFCI receptacle in the bathroom. 99NEC 210-8 2) Place keynotes 5 and 7 and the electrical floor plan. E-3 1) The A/C load in the unit load calculation appears low; the actual value is 4370VA. As a result of the increase the unit load is approximately 92 amps. 2) Provide the grounding electrode conductor sizes for the services. In addition provide a grounding detail depicting at least the minimum requirements required by 99NEC 250-24 and 250 part C. 3) The 2-unit apartment load analysis is incorrect due to comment E-3 #1 above. The Adjusted 3-unit load using the optional calculation found in 99NEC 220-23 is approximately 186 amps. Using the Standard Calculation found in the 99NEC Part B is only 143 amps. 4) The 3-unit load is approximately 186 amps and the 4-unit load is approximately 248 amps. 5) The utility company will provide both the secondary conductor service laterals and the fault current values at the point of attachment to the building service. Please provide this information on the plan and include it with the second submission. E-4 1) Specification B under the "Wiring Devices" section requires all receptacles within 6' of a sink to be GFCI protected. The 99NEC 210-8 requires all receptacles serving above countertop kitchen receptacles to be GFCI. General Comments 1) Provide a symbol list defining all electrical symbols utilized on this project. 2) Please return the blue line set I have already reviewed along with your next submission. It is easily recognizable as it is highlighted in yellow marker. |
