Note: A 1hr ceiling is required above the type I hoods & 18" beyond all sides. 2. Provide complete data on the Port-O-Pack Refrigeration and the Condensors, fan coils in all walk-ins-- tonage, voltage, etc. 3. Exhaust fans EF-2 & EF-5 shall run after the fire system discharges-make note on the plan. 4. Detail 4 on M1.3 will not be accepted-- NO sharp, rough edges will be allowed inside of the hoods or exhaust duct. |
| 10/03/2000 | HOLLY PEARCE | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Plumbing 1. Civil site plans indicate that the buildings on Parcel #3,#5 will require a backwater valve on the building sewer. Indicate on the plan the location and access details. Provide Parcel #7 F.F.E. on the plan. Note: Plans need to be sealed. 2.Isometric and detail 11 for DA/108 are incorrect. SanTee on the vent line is upside down. Note: All fittings shall be drainage. 3. Venting of FS-1 near RX105 requires venting to comply with Sec910.3UPC1994. The CWV systems shall be designed per Appendix B UPC1994. 4.Provide the fixture units at each branch of the the waste line on the isometric drawing and a total at the building sewer.5. Provide backflow prevention devices on the potable water lines serving the water softner & SCW system. 6. Provide the total demand length of gas line on the plan.(total measurement of the gas line in the isometric drawing is about 780 ft.) At 3035.5CFH and a 4" gas line- the gas line is undersized. Provide a manual shut off valve, a union & a fire system valve for the donat fryer. Show on the isometric. 7. The water demand calculation indicates a 3ft. rise --the water line goes to 18ft to 24'ft above the floor- redo the calc's. Clairify evaporative condenser & misting system amount of GPM. What is the 77GPM for? 8. The water heater on P1.2 (WH1) indicates a 3" combustion air. Provide a data sheet on the WH. Pans under the water heaters require a drain, provide size &discharge location. |
| 10/11/2000 | RANDY SCHULER | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | CITY OF TUCSON DEVELOPMENT SERVICES ELECTRICAL REVIEW COMMENTS DATE: October 11, 2000 ACTIVITY NUMBER: T00CM04774 PROJECT NAME: Safeway PROJECT ADDRESS: 6360 E. Golf Links PROJECT REVIEWER: Randy Schuler, P.E. Page 1 of 2 E0.3 1) Remove the #2 ground from the service lateral for the 400 amp service. It will not be landed by the utility, in addition it creates a parallel path for the neutral currents. 2) The utility published fault current is 75,100 amps plus any motor contribution. E1.1 1) See comment EO.3 #2 above. 2) Remove the 500 kcmil ground from the service lateral. See comment E0.3 #1 above. 3) Keyed note #4 requires a #600 kcmil main bonding jumper. 99NEC 250-28(d). 4) Keyed note #3 should reference 250-104(a)(b)(c). 5) Keyed note #19 should reference 250-104(d). 6) Provide the feeder size for panel R3. 7) Panel SF should be included in the DSB load calculation. I do not believe it will actually increase your total calculated load of 1547 amps. 8) The fault current at the SES including the motor contribution is approximately 75,800 amps however the service bracing is only 65,000 amps. All of the panels should have an integrated listed and labeled series rating for a minimum of 30,000 amps when protected by the fuses specified. Please add this note to your plan. The remainder of the equipment appears to be properly braced even when a larger original fault current is utilized. Please revise your calculations to reflect the higher fault available from the utility and at the SES. E3.1 1) Panel BK appears to be mounted above a shelf. This is in violation of 99NEC 110-26. Col. 6F. 2) The ATS appears to lack proper work clearance. Column 2B 3) The trash compactor starter must have its disconnect within sight. See 99NEC 430-102. Col. 6A. 4) Circuit DA-23 should be removed from the homerun as it is 1 phase of a 3 phase booster heater. Col. 3E. Page 2 of 2 E3.1.1 1) Provide a fused disconnect for EF-6 as the 25 amp circuit breaker will not provide the short circuit protection required by 99NEC 430-52(c). Col. 2F 2) Clarify how you are providing short circuit and overload protection for all the exhaust fan motors. See 99NEC 430-32 and 430-52. 3) Clarify how you are providing disconnect, short circuit, and overload protection for all of the refrigerated case fans. 4) MUA-1 is ½ hp 120V and cannot be served by R2-8,10,12 as this is a 3 phase circuit serving AC3. Col. 2E. 5) Remove the reference to R2-32, which is connected to column line 2E. 6) Provide a disconnect for AC-4 per 99NEC 440-63. Col. 7A E3.1.3 1) The 99NEC 422 part C requires a disconnect for all appliances. Clarify how compliance is provided. 2) Panels XL and XL2 lack proper work clearance per 99NEC 110-26. See room 141 (Control room) E3.2 1) Detail 3 indicates a JB that will contain both telephone, data, and power. This is in violation of 99NEC 725-54(a)1 and 800-52(c)1. 2) The #14 AWG ground required in detail #8 is undersized. The ground wire size should be based upon the amperage of the overcurrent device of the circuit involved. 99NEC 250-122 E3.3 1) Both of the hood wiring diagrams appear incorrect. A voltage appears to be provided at the shunt trip circuit breakers during normal operation. Please explain. Provide the locations of the control panels on page E3.1.3. Provide control power disconnects for the fan starters (99NEC 430-74). Provide a disconnect ahead of but within sight of the fan starters that will open the fan circuit conductors. (NEC 430-102). Typical for both the Bakery and Deli. Circuit R2-31 does not serve the MUA as indicated. See page E3.1.1 and the panel schedule on E4.1. Circuit R1-15 does not serve the hood exhaust fan as indicated. See E3.1.1 and the panel schedule on E4.1. See page M1.4 for proper sequencing and control schematic requirements. GENERAL COMMENTS 1) Provide Model Energy light budget calculations for the site lighting as well as the exterior and interior of the building. 2) Please return the plans I have already reviewed upon your next submission. I cannot commence my next review without the originally reviewed plans. The plans are easily recognizable as they are covered with yellow hi-liter. |
