07/19/2013 | GARY WITTWER | COT NON-DSD | TDOT | Denied | Trish, We have reconsidered the planting in the ROW on Houghton. We do not have any objections with the following consideration. 1. The extension of irrigation into the ROW be clearly marked in the field. Eric has indicated that it will be placed on a separate valve. Our concern is that when TDOT comes in and plants the area they will need to know where to shut off and disconnect prior to removal. 2. The owner must understand that the planting on Houghton will be removed when the new project comes in. 3. I did not check to see if all of the standard notes were on the plans, but the attached notes should be there. Eric usually has this covered. Let me know if you have questions. Gary City of Tucson Department of Transportation Standard Notes for Planting in ROW 1. It is the owners responsibility to keep the Sight Visibility Triangles (SVT), and the pedestrian access area clear of vegetation at all times, per Land Use Code (LUC) section 2. Final plant locations must be in compliance with all utility setback requirements. 3. The owner understands that if the City of Tucson Transportation Department or any utility company needs to work within the ROW in the landscaped area, plants and irrigation may be destroyed without replacement or repair. 4. The owner takes full liability for this landscape and irrigation, and any damage to roadway, sidewalk and utilities. 5. The only private irrigation equipment that is allowed within the ROW are lateral lines, tubing and emitters that are not under constant pressure. All other equipment must be on private property. (excluding water meter) 6. Contractor to obtain a Right Of Way excavation permit prior to construction within the right-of-way. |
07/25/2013 | JOE LINVILLE | LANDSCAPE | REVIEW | Denied | 1) Include the Scenic Corridor Zone case number or the DRB case number on the plans. Submit documents regarding any related conditions and include decision letters (if applicable). 2) Variances from the SCZ standards are processed in accordance with Section 3.10.1 and 3.10.3, Board of Adjustment Variance Procedure. The Design Review Board reviews all requests for variances from SCZ standards and forward a recommendation to the Board of Adjustment as provided in Section 2.2.6.C.2. It appears that a variance is required. 3) Indicate the limits of grading per A.M. 2-10.4.2.B. Provide revised grading plans as necessary if the elevations or limits are proposed to change. 4) A revisions variance for the NPPO may bee required based TDOT comments. Reuired transplants may not be located in the ROW if it the area is to be disturbed for upcoming construction. |
