05/23/2017 | AHINES2 | ENV SVCS | REVIEW | Approved | The City of Tucson - Environmental and General Services Department (EGSD) has completed our review of the Technical Standard Modification Request for The Mark at Tucson. The waste stream calculation of 101 cubic yards of waste per week is correct. The applicant is proposing the use of a Marathon RJ-250 SC compactor unit to be located within an enclosed trash room adjacent to Building 2. The Marathon RJ-250 SC compactor has a container capacity of 34 cubic yards. It is proposed that the compactor unit will be serviced three times per week or more often if necessary. EGSD approves the use of the Marathon compactor as proposed in the development plan. In future submittals, the applicant should explain how the recycling component of the waste steam will be managed. If the percentage of the recycle materials in the waste stream is large (40 or 50 percent of the total wastes generated at the site) and is diverted from the compactor, the compactor may be oversized to handle the refuse portion of the solid waste only. Please contact me if there are any questions concerning this review. Tom Ryan, P. E. City of Tucson - Environmental and General Services Department |
