01/13/2017 | PAUL BAUGHMAN | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Reqs Change | DATE: January 23, 2017 DUE DATE: February 6, 2017 SUBJECT: Dock-Hi Industrial TO: Rick Engineeering LOCATION: 2850 East Drexel Road REVIEWERS: Paul Baughman, PE, CFM ACTIVITY: DP16-0184 SUMMARY: Engineering Division of Planning and Development Services Department has received and reviewed the proposed Development Plan Package. The following items need to be addressed: 1) Per previous comment 34 and UDC 7.14.3, Section 5.2, item 6, the input values should be provided for the proposed hydraulic structures within the basins as part of the HEC-HMS model. These HEC-HMS models contained in Appendix E show a total 1.02 acre feet is retained when comparing the total inflow volume to the total outflow volume of basins 1 to 7. The Retention Basin Summary Table on page 8 (section 3.1) of the drainage report shows a total of 1.48 acre feet is retained. The Required Retention Volume Table on page 7 (Section 3.1) of the drainage report shows that only 0.95 acre feet is required to be retained. If the required HEC-HMS inputs include the 6" orifice plates, and 1.02 acre feet is being retained (ie. Infiltrated) on site per UDC 7.14.3, Section 1.3 then the report should be clarified accordingly and the other 0.46 acre feet that passes through the orifice plates should be classified as detention. Alternatively, the project should be revised to provide the required retention per UDC 7.14.3, Section 1.3 (ie. Infiltration, evaporation or reuse). A partial detention in-lieu of retention waiver may be requested for this project with appropriate calculations/documentation. See also previous comments 2, 3, 20, 30. 2) Keynote 21 should refer to detail S/18. Please see previous comment 17. 3) Per previous comment 41 and UDC 7.14.4, Section 10.3, Item 9 the stormdrain proposed in the right-of-way is required to be RCP. Sheet 19 still shows the proposed 4- 48" SRPs which should be RCP. 4) Per UDC 7.14.4, Section 14.5, Item 10, please show how the dry-well inlet will be elevated no less than six inches above the adjacent grade in order to reduce the influx of sediment into the dry-well system. This is a new comment for this submittal based on the addition of a drywell (as part of the second submittal) in one of the retention basins to address infiltration issues. If you have any comments questions or wish to discuss new information, please call or email me at 520-837-5007 or paul.baughman@tucsonaz.gov. |
