The City of Tucson - Environmental Services Department (ES) has reviewed an additional site drawing for Development Plan Package DP15-0208 for the proposed Building B addition at the Westerner property located at 10 E. Broadway Boulevard from a solid waste storage and collection standpoint. The additional drawing is titled "No. 1 Trash & Recycle" and was submitted to our office by Grenier Engineering, Inc.



The proposal, as depicted on the additional site drawing, is to construct a waste container ramp along the sidewalk adjacent to the refuse truck loading area to allow access to move the waste containers into position for servicing by the refuse truck. The curb, estimated at 4 inches high, will be removed from the ramp area to provide for a smooth surface from the sidewalk adjacent to the building to the container loading area. The two sidewalk sections labeled "curb access ramp" on the drawing titled "No. 1 Trash & Recycle" are transition sections from the center ramp section to the full curb sections. The curb access ramp sidewalk sections will have a transition curb and sloping sides to the adjacent undisturbed sidewalk sections.



There are two utility vaults located on the east and west sides of the curb access ramp sidewalk sections and a storm sewer catch basin located on the east side of the east curb access ramp section. The proposed for the ramp area is the only location where existing utilities will not be disturbed and where movement of the containers onto Jackson Street is not expected to pose a safety issue for turning vehicles. Therefore, ES approves the proposed waste container ramp area as depicted on drawing "No. 1 Trash & Recycle" for Development Plan Package DP15-0208 for the proposed Building B addition at the Westerner property.
