02/28/2017 | PGEHLEN1 | ENV SVCS | REVIEW | Approved | Trish, The City of Tucson - Environmental and General Services Department has completed our review of DP15-0033, the Illegal Pete's site on University Boulevard. The waste generation calculations were performed for waste being generated at the Illegal Pete's property only. We understand that no wastes or recycling materials from nearby restaurants will be stored on this site. Paragraph 5.2 G. in Section 8 of the Technical Standards Manual requires that the concrete service apron in front of the enclosure shall have a minimum slope of 2% away from the enclosure. Please have Cypress Civil Development specify the slope along the entire 40 foot by 14 foot access and operational area in front of the westerly enclosure. The minimum 2% slope on the concrete service apron is the only design issue that needs clarification. If this slope is satisfactory, Environmental and General Services Department can approve these plans. Tom Ryan, P.E. City of Tucson - Environmental and General Services Department |
02/28/2017 | PGEHLEN1 | ENV SVCS | REVIEW | Approved | Trish, March 10, 2017 RE: DP15-0033 Illegal Pete's Section 8 of the Technical Standards Manual states that the concrete service apron in front of the enclosure must slope at a minimum of 2% away from the enclosure. This is to prevent storm water runoff from collecting in the enclosure area. On reviewing the grading plan for Illegal Pete's, the concrete apron slopes away from the enclosure at a slope of 1%. In talking with Ken Perry for the last one and one half years about this requirement, Ken felt the 2% slope requirement was difficult to achieve on some sites and would approve a slope of 1% for the service apron. I agree with Ken and am approving the 1% slope. As this was the only technical issue with the enclosure design, Environmental Services approves the enclosure design for Illegal Pete's as specified in DP15-0033. Please let me know if you have any questions. Tom Ryan, P. E. City of Tucson - Environmental and General Services Department |
