10/16/2012 | RONALD BROWN | HC SITE | REVIEW | Denied | AT DETAIL 10/A9.4 1. The flared sideS of both accessible aisle ramps must be a minimum slope of 1:10 as required by ICC A117.1, Section 406.3. Redraw the slopes of the flared sides to reflect a 1:10 slope. 2. What is the North South slope of the accessible parking area? 3. Refer to sheet A9.6 for comments about the marked crossing intersection and access to the entry way. 4. The accessible parking signage must be located outside of the asphaltic parking area. Two of the signs could be mounted on the building columns and the third one just relocate to a point inside the concrete walk area. DETAIL 2/A9.6 5. The "T" intersection of the two marked crossings has several problems: a. The North end of the marked crossing from Fifth Street requires a detectable warning strip. b. Development Standards require any pedestrian way outside of the asphaltic PAAL area to be concrete. So, starting at the backside of the parking spaces at the building, this marked crossing walkway should be concrete to the second marked crossing. Also, the pedestrian way of the marked crossing from Craycroft is required to be concrete from the end of the 17'-0" wide dimension PAAL to the existing concrete walkway under the existing canopy. A detectable warning strip is required for both marked crossings at the end of the PAAL and the beginning of the new concrete walkway. Please reference proposed alternate design concept attached to the drawing. This is a suggestion only concerning the landscape area. Please reference Zoning comments and verify acceptance of Landscape if new landscaping is added. END OF REVIEW |
