03/26/2010 | RONALD BROWN | ZONING HC | REVIEW | Denied | SHEET C3.0 1. The dectetable warnings are located in the wrong place on the sidewalk ramps (2 places) in the middle of the accessible route leading to Houghton Road. These ramps lead down to a marked flush area of the parking lot for people with carts to access the accessible aisle. The detectable warnings must be located just on the edge of the accessible asile prior to entering the marked asphaltic paving asile with the required 2' deep oriented to the direction of travel. We would prefer you not have these elements at all as they are a false warning for vision impared persons that think they are in an marked crossing leading to a safe area when in fact, they are being dumped into the traffic aisle with no further direction provided. 2. Insure that the two marked crossings leading to the existing CVS Pharmacy have the proper ramps and detectable warnings on at the CVS side to comply with providing a complete marked crossing. 3. Insure that the marked crossing to the main store entrance is identified with a different striping than that of the rest of the stripped hazardous area show. Maybe paint the stripes at a diagonal. SHEET C6.1 4. The detectable warning strip shown on the sidewalk ramp leading down to the area between the accessible parking spaces is not required. this is a safe zone with no traffic. 5. The accessible signage shown on sheet C6.3 is in conflict with the accessible signage shown on sheet C6.2. Please coordinate. END OF REVIEW |
