06/30/2010 | LAITH ALSHAMI | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | Laith Alshami, Engineering and Floodplain Review, 07/14/2010, TO: Patricia Gehlen FROM: Laith Alshami, P.E. CDRC Engineering SUBJECT: Sorrento Square Retail Center, Revision for Quick Trip D07-0014, T14S, R15E, SECTION 26 RECEIVED: Development Plan, Landscape Plan, and Drainage Report for Quick Trip on June 29, 2010 The subject submittal has been reviewed. We offer the following comments. Prepare a detailed response that explains the revisions that were made and references the exact location in the drainage report and on the Development Plan where the revisions were made: Drainage Report: 1. The report states that the ponding depths in Basins B and C will be1' and 1.5' respectively. It is not clear if the harvested water in these basins will be drained out completely through the proposed drainage structures or the basins will actually pond at depths that exceed 6" for long periods of time. Since these basins will operate more like retention basins, verify that the basins soils percolation rates are acceptable. Provide a geotechnical Report that addresses this issue. 2. The report states that Basin B will be bled through a stormdrain which is designed by others. When will the stormdrain be designed and installed? It seems that in order for the basin to work properly, the stormdrain needs to be installed at the same time with the basin at the latest. Clarify this issue and provide the stormdrain design with the next submittal. 3. The design of the stormdrain for the fuel canopy is not included in the submittal. 4. The design of the proposed temporary channel to Detention Basin B, shall be included in the submittal. Include a discussion in the text and show on the drainage exhibits. Development Plan: 1. Show the third curb opening east of the fuel island (D.S 2-05.2.4.H.3.). 2. Show the waterharvesting basins grades (D.S 2-05.2.4.H.4.). 3. Sheet numbers are not consistent on all the sheets. Revise as needed. 4. Keynote #4 does not appear to have the correct description. 5. Show the locations of the cross sections and details, provided on Sheets DP5.0 through DP5.4, on the plan. 6. Additional construction details may be required on the Grading Plan. 7. Revise the Development Plan in accordance with the Drainage Report revisions. Landscape Plan: 1. The proposed changes do not affect Engineering and Floodplain Review previous approval. The Landscape Plan is acceptable pertaining to Engineering and Floodplain. RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: Revised Development Plan and Drainage Report |
