09/21/2004 | JCLARK3 | ENV SVCS | REVIEW | Approv-Cond | * Responded by letter to Stantec, the consultant, for the project. The single enclosure can be serviced as designed for pad three. * The comments addressed in the letter are as follows: * Resturants usually have a recycling dumpster along with a garbage dumpster. * One dumpster for three bussinesses (especially since two are fast food bussinesses) does not seem sufficient. * Sent sketches of possible solutions for the consultant to consider. There are no provisions in the Development Standards so stanting what should be provided. Single dumpster can be serviced as designed. |

10/07/2004 | MARILYN KALTHOFF | PIMA COUNTY | WASTEWATER | Approved | October 7, 2004 TO: Paul Keesler, P.E., Stantec Consulting, Inc. THRU: FROM: ____________________________________ Tim Rowe, P.E. representing the Pima County Departments of Wastewater Management and Environmental Quality SUBJECT: Safeway Plaza Pad 3 - Submittal D04-0028 The proposed sewer collection lines to serve the above-referenced project have been reviewed on behalf of the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) and the Pima County Wastewater Management Department (PCWMD). This review letter may contain comments pertaining to the concerns of either Department. The following comments are offered for your use. Sheets 6 & 11: The proposed private sewers for Pad 3 may not have a design flow of 3000 gallons per day or more, but they are carrying the wastewater from two grease interceptors. One can expect grease to build-up over time in the area where the proposed private sewer lines connect to the existing private sewer line, even with proper maintenance of the grease interceptors. For greater ease and flexibility during maintenance of the proposed and existing private sewer lines, we recommend that the proposed private sewer line be connected to the existing private sewer line via a manhole rather than a cleanout, although this is not be required by any of the applicable codes and regulations. This is not a requirement, however, it is only a recommendation. No change is required to the development plan. The Pima County Department of Environmental Quality and Wastewater Management Department hereby approve the above referenced submittal of the development plan as submitted. Please note the following: Approval of the above referenced submittal does not authorize the construction of public or private sewer collection lines, or water distribution lines. Prior to the construction of such features, a Construction Authorization (Approval To Construct) may need to be obtained from the Pima County Environmental Quality. Also, air quality activity permits must be secured by the developer or prime contractor from the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality before constructing, operating or engaging in an activity which may cause or contribute to air pollution. If you wish to discuss the above comments, please contact me at the phone number provided above, under my signature. Copy: Project |
