All signs shall have UL sticker, manufacturer sticker and installer sticker added to the sign for inspections. Dedicated circuits for signs shall be provided and labeled at the breaker panel or electrical box for inspections. All signs shall be shut off via timer at midnight curfew (Table 501.5, OLC) timer shall be provided near the power panel and freestanding signs shall have a switch within line of sight per 2011 NEC 600 & 702.7. As per the City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code 501.3.2 & 501.5: the Internally illuminated sign as shown on this page does not Exceed the 4400k or 200 nits for electronic display signs. Lockouts to be provided where shut off switch is not immediately visible to the sign. All detached signs to be 5 feet from fire hydrants, 2’ from driveway curbs, 18” from adjacent parking spaces, and outside of any easements. Power to the monument sign by existing electrical from existing sign. 403.5.1 The means of controlling the specific “off” curfew shall be by a 24 hour timing device that includes stand-by power to maintain the time and program for a minimum of 6 hours. 403.5.2 Whenever any curfew “off” time is required by this Code, a permanent sign or notice shall be installed at the time control device stating the required turn-off time. Such sign or notice may be installed within the cover of the time control device such that it is visible whenever the device is set or adjusted. Suggested wording is as follows: “Set off time for Sign no later than 12:00PM MST in accordance with City of Tucson/Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code. Penalty for non-compliance per Outdoor Lighting Code Section 107.4. Penalties shall not exceed $750.00 for individuals and $10,000.00 for other legal entities.” (Adjust wording as needed for type of lighting to which curfew applies and the applicable curfew time.)
