This letter reflects comments to be addressed. Additional comments may be provided in subsequent reviews. Code reference: Unified Development Code, Article 7A: Sign Standards, adopted Outdoor Lighting Code, adopted Building Code. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Tami.Goltz@tucsonaz.gov or 520-837-5049. 1) This site is in a Scenic Corridor and is restricted to 1.25 sq ft per lf of frontage and are limited to a maximum of 250 sq ft. The application lists the frontage as 130 lf, which would allow for 162.5 sq ft of sign area. The proposed signage is 273 sq ft of sign area, which is 110.5 sq ft more than what is allowed. Please reduce the amount of signage to meet allowances. 2) Your drawings are missing the scaled site plan. Please resubmit with scaled site plan that shows all buildings on property, sight visibility triangles, setbacks of freestanding signs from the face of curb or leading edge of ROW if no curb exists and location of signage. 3) Check amount of amperage each sign will be using per manufacturer standards. The signs are all different sizes and should have different amounts of amerage they are pulling. 4) The sign area is measured by drawing a box around all copy/logos. Please refer to section 7A.6.1 for sign measurement requirements and adjust sign area calculations accordingly. 5) Sign A ⦁ new freestanding signs require sealed engineering. Please resubmit with sealed engineering. ⦁ Freestanding signs in Scenic Corridors are only permitted to be monument or low-profile signs. Monument signs are limited to 10’ in overall height from top of curb to top of sign and is allowed a maximum of 50 sq ft of sign area. Sign area is not noted on drawings. Add this calculation to the drawings. Sign height neeeds to be reduced to 10’ OAH. ⦁ Please review section 5.3.4 of the Unified Development Code for the requirements of the Scenic Route Buffer Area requirements. ⦁ Show location of disconnect switch. |
