Note that this overall premise is subject to the criteria of the Scenic Corridor Zone Sign District, UDC 7A.11.3, as St. Mary’s Road is a designated scenic route per the City’s Major Streets & Routes Map. 1. UDC: a) I acknowledge a freestanding sign is permitted along the Silverbell Road side of this development. The following comments need to be addressed on the plans for the permitting record. b) Break down sign area on structure and provide cumulative, as raised lettering is separate surfacing from structure. Acknowledge structure and sign size / sign area is small and will meet code. c) Provide setback dimension on plan from Silverbell face of curb to leading edge of sign. (min 20’ for a monument, if proposing low-profile, setback is 2’ height of the sign at minimum) d) Depending on setback possible for the sign, as it is only 6’ tall, it can be a low-profile sign style. However, sign would then require a continuous 2’ tall base under the lowest raised lettering area all the way to the ground. (Modify concrete or metal to cover to ground) e) Provide setback dimension on the plan from the Silverbell property line to the leading edge of the sign (must be within 20 feet of the property line / right of way line along Silverbell) (7A.11.3 requirement) f) Provide setback dimension on the plan from the center line of St Mary’s Road, must be 150’ from centerline – at minimum – to the sign (7A.11.3 requirement) Suggest adding an aerial and using the city map system for this piece, please. g) For scenic criteria, add note the “light shall be emitted only through text / logo” on the sign. 2. NEC – no comments, thank you. 3. OLC – no comments, thank you. 4. IBC - thank you for the engineering. No comments, thank you. (Ok if GC plans the pour for the footer and anchor bolting.)
