Parsons (robert.parsons@tucsonaz.gov) CODES: Unified Development Code 7A Sign Standards (UDC), National Electrical Code 600 (NEC), Tucson – Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code 2018 (IBC). 1. UDC: A. Please note that the allowed sign area calculation is a 3 to 1 ratio based off the length of the wall and the sidewalk space running along the south elevation (I.E. about 35’). B. Please box in the sign area for each component of your wall signs as you are unnecessarily including negative space. See marked plans. C. Please provide a landlord letter approving the sign. 2. NEC: A. Please provide a note stating the UL sticker, manufacturer sticker, and installer sticker will be placed on all signs. B. Provide a note that a dedicated sign circuit shall be provided and labeled at the breaker panel. 3. OLC: A. Please provide a note that all signs will shut off at midnight. 4. IBC: A. Please dimension the width of the raceway and the letters. B. Provide the number of mounts on average for the 2 raceways connecting to the walls. C. Please add a note detailing the size of screw and typical number used to mount the letters to the raceway. D. Please add a note showing where the required weep holes will be located. Your sign will qualify for a self-certification inspection once permitted. Depending on revisions submitted, further review comments may be forthcoming.
